NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 4/21/23

Solid night on the NHL yesterday for me, going 4-2 to win 2.76 units. Tonight four of the series shift to the home arenas for Game 3s, let’s win again!!

Game 3: Islanders vs. Hurricanes (7:00)

This series head to Long Island for a must win game at home for the Islanders, who are down 2-0 in the series in the first ever playoff game in . Both previous game were very close and competitive, with the Canes winning 2-1 in Game 1 and then winning 4-3 in overtime in Game 2 after a controversial no call for high sticking right before the game winning goal. These have been solid, defensive (yet a bit boring games). The Isles have had their chances to win those first two games, especially Game 2 where they outplayed Carolina by an expected goal rate of 2.71-2.29. I expect them to make it a 2-1 series with their first win of the series tonight and I’ll take them for 1.5 units. I’m going right back to the under as well, with a unit on the alternate under 5.5 (crazy how juiced up this has gotten) and along with that, I’m taking a unit on the Hurricanes over 32.5 shots on goal. I was going to take Sorokin’s saves prop over originally, but at 31.5, I’d rather take the 32.5 total shots, just one shot over the save prop.

Game 3: Panthers vs. Bruins (7:30)

The Bruins haven’t been good in this series so far. They limped through Game 1 at home on Monday night but still picked up a 3-1 win to start off the series. I thought it wouldn’t get worse for them in Game 2, but it did as they lost 6-3 on home ice. The B’s got outplayed by an expected goal rate of 4.93-3.6. Complete dud of a game. Tonight they’re making a goalie change, with Swayman in goal. I’m expecting the Boston to win this game to get the lead back in the series and get their home ice advantage back. I already have a the risk of losing by prop of the Bruins to win the series in five games or less, which not only am I letting it ride, I’m doubling down here with a unit on them. I’ll also take the value on the puck line for half a unit along with the alternate over 6 on the game for half a unit.

Game 3: Wild vs. Stars (9:30)

The games in this series have easily been the most entertaining of the playoffs with the series tied at 1 going to Minnesota. The Wild won the first game 3-2 in double overtime and the Stars answered back in a huge way on Wednesday night with a 7-3 home win, but just slightly outplaying Minnesota by an expected goal rate of 3.13-2.83. I expect this series to go seven games and the way the first two games went, that looks even better. I think tonight’s Game 3 is a complete coin flip both from a perspective of the side and the total, and I’ll stay off it entirely.

Game 3: Kings vs. Oilers (10:00)

The first two games in this tied series were entertaining in Edmonton, with the Kings coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period, forcing overtime with 16.7 left in regulation and then winning 4-3 on the road in overtime and the Oilers answering back with a much needed 4-2 win at home on Wednesday night in Game 2, outshooting LA 37-24 and dominating the Kings by an expected goal rate of 4.42-2.87. The Oilers are the better team in this series, and with the series shifting to LA, I expect them to get a win on the road tonight to take their first lead of the series. I’ll take them for a unit along with half a unit on the puck line. Although Connor McDavid picked up an assist on Wednesday after getting held off the score sheet, he still hasn’t scored in this series. I expect that to end tonight and think he lights the lamp. I’ll take McDavid to score for a unit along with half a unit on Draisaitl to score, as he keeps rolling in this series. I also like the over tonight and will take the alternate over 6 for a unit.
