Lot of drama from Aaron and Brayden on this week’s episode of The Bachelorette

On last week’s episode of The Bachelorette, Charity had her first dates of the season, with two group dates and two one on one dates. Besides some group date drama, it was a pretty good week for her. This week the journey continues as Charity and the guys leave LA and go not very far to Oceanside, CA in San Diego. I’m finishing up the episode a day late since the Home Run Derby (and having to do some work on it) was my priority last night, but whatever.

Brayden, fresh off being the cause of last week’s drama because he might not be ready for this whole situation, gets the first one on one date, going by helicopter with Charity while the rest of the guys take a bus. They land in Petco Park, the home of the Padres, which is pretty awesome. Brayden is from San Diego, so the whole date is a big deal for him. They play catch and get to bat on the field. After that, Brayden tells Charity that he’s in his head and it’s a tough experience for him to handle and doesn’t know if this is going to be too much for him, which visibly bothers her. At dinner, Brayden lets Charity know that despite his struggled, he thinks he has a good connection with her and will try to get through his own issues with the experience. She happily gives him the rose, although in my opinion it feels like she’s trying to force this even though he isn’t ready.

The group date is Barbie movie themed, hosted by former Bachelorette couple JoJo and Jordan. Inspired by a part of the movie, the guys have to dress up as Ken dolls and then write songs for Charity to the tune of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Actually a fun idea for a sponsored date. Sean (former Barstool Sports intern, so this kid’s pretty much living my dream life) wins the competition and gets to spend some one on one time on the pier with Charity. Sean comes into the after party all pumped up and singing his Barbie song, which the rest of the guys aren’t thrilled about. When Charity arrives, Sean’s the first guy to pull her away. That really pisses off a few of the others, but that’s not his problem. Dotun, talking to Charity really has a strong connection with her which seems very genuine, and she gives him the group date rose.

Warwick gets the second one on one of the week. They get an amusement park, Belmont Park, which I would’ve guessed was in NY, entirely to themselves. Charity is annoyed by the date because he really doesn’t say or do anything and is super boring. Not only does this kid have zero communication skills and doesn’t open up whatsoever, he’s just a boring person. Charity doesn’t give him the rose and sends him home. That might have been the most boring date I have ever watched on any of these shows.

Back to the house, Brayden says he had a dream the previous night that Charity gave him a rose, but took it away and gave it to someone else. That doesn’t sound like the producers fed him that line at all…based on the previews of pretty much just that happening. He then says to all the other guys that he doesn’t know if he could get engaged at the end of this…THEN WHY ARE YOU HERE?!?

Prior to the cocktail party, Charity tells the guys that she sent Warwick home for the specific reason that she wasn’t ready for an engagement. Aaron B. is pissed about that Brayden isn’t there for the right reasons. He tells Charity that Brayden is not ready for an engagement, he’s very unsure, and that he doesn’t want to really be with someone that has dated 20 of his friends. Aaron then goes to tell Brayden that he told Charity. Pretty insecure on Aaron’s part, but at the same point, he’s not wrong on Brayden whatsoever. Really she should send both of them home. Charity then pulls Brayden to talk to him about what Aaron told her. Brayden reiterates to her that he’s still learning and trying to figure out if they’re the right fit to get engaged while a bunch of the other guys are already saying they’ll just get engaged to her right away. He’s not wrong. A bunch of the other guys are annoyed by Aaron for bringing that up and taking time away from them to deal with that. Brayden honestly isn’t wrong on that. After that ordeal, Jesse comes in, says the cocktail party is over, and it’s right to the rose ceremony. Absolutely Aaron’s fault in that whole thing. Just mind your own business and focus on yourself and your relationship.

Onto the rose ceremony. Aaron shockingly is the first guy to get a rose. With the final rose of the night, Charity gives it to Tanner, sending several of the guys that didn’t get time with her home. Honestly, if you can’t make a connection enough on your own to get a rose, you can’t blame others on the drama even though it does make it tougher. Charity considers taking away Brayden’s rose, but she lets him stay.
