Pivoting from the maturity of Thursday night’s episode of The Golden Bachelor, we head to the beach for the second episode of this season of Bachelor in Paradise, which is sure to be the complete opposite…yet still highly entertaining. There’s already some connections and already drama. I’m a couple days late watching this one since I was busy on Thursday and my poor pup got sick yesterday, but the Chan man’s back to normal tonight so I’m finally catching up.
We start off with the drama of last week of that Will kissed Olivia but then went on a date and actually made a connection with Kylie. So now Olivia’s all pissed off and wants to cause more drama, which is ridiculously immature in my eyes. Now she wants Aven to come to the beach for the sole reason that Kylie originally wanted Aven. I don’t really remember Olivia from The Bachelor but she’s already insufferable on this and its only been one episode. So of course Aven walks down the steps to the beach. I liked Aven a lot on Rachel and Gabby’s season of The Bachelor and thought Rachel made such a mistake choosing Tino over him. Aven comes in with a date card and he asks Kylee to go on the date. She accepts, much to the disappointment of both Will and Olivia. Before going on the date, Kylee talks to Will about it.
Meanwhile back at the beach, there’s a bunch of couples but the center of attention is Aaron B. He was with Mercedes the previous night but now Eliza. Eliza’s hoping to just have one thing this year rather than being in a love triangle like she was last year. Aaron decides to play it truthfully and tell Eliza. She gets really upset about it since it reminds her of the situation from the previous year. Kind of sucks for both Mercedes and Eliza since neither of them knew about Aaron’s connection with the other.
The next person to walk down to the beach is a bit of a shocker, another former Bachelorette…Hannah Brown, originally from Colton’s season. Her season was terrible yet incredibly entertaining at the same time. Some of the ladies are like starstruck by Hannah. She tells everyone that she’s not here to date and is there to help (I thought she was engaged), and leaves a group date card. That’s new. Everyone goes to the bonfire and Aven and Kylee return from their date that we didn’t see a second of. Then Hannah comes down to ask the “burning questions” at the bonfire. A lot of the questions really through a spark into a lot of connections.
Kylee and Will talk when she gets back from her date with Aven. She breaks it off with Will and decides to pursue things with Aven instead. At the cocktail party, Mercedes pursues Will. Kylee loves seeing that connection happen, which I think is nice.
Peter is pretty much the only rose that is still up for grabs. He has a handful of the ladies vying for his rose but decides to pull Sam from Aaron S. He acts a bit like a snake trying to mess with Sam and Aaron’s connection. Aaron gets pissed and goes to confront Peter.
Onto the first rose ceremony of the season. With the final rose of the night…
“Olivia, will you accept this rose?”
He tells her that it feels like she got the short end of the stick so far in Paradise and gives her the rose. Kinda surprising pick there in my opinion. Plus I was hoping that she would go home.
The drama continues with more new arrivals at the beach next week.
