Last night I lost 1.67 units on the NHL, going 4-4 with the Sharks finally getting their first win of the season. Let’s bounce back on tonight’s three-game slate before a huge slate again tomorrow.
Maple Leafs vs. Senators (7:00)
This is always a fun matchup between these Ontario rivals, with both coming off games against Tampa at home. On Monday night the Leafs came all the way back from a 4-1 deficit to win 6-5 in overtime (double winner for me). That win ended a four-game losing streak for Toronto. Meanwhile, The Sens have just one win in their last six games, coming off their 6-4 loss against the Bolts on Saturday. I like the Leafs to win here at home and will take them for half a unit. I like the over too, which I’ll take for half a unit as well.
Capitals vs. Panthers (7:30)
I don’t love this matchup. My only loss on Monday’s slate came with the Panthers needing overtime to beat the Blue Jackets 5-4 when I had them in regulation. I don’t think the Caps are all that good of a team, but coming into tonight’s game at home they have four wins in their last five games. I like the Panthers to win on the road here tonight and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the under but not enough to bet on it.
Golden Knights vs. Kings (10:00)
Both of these Pacific Division teams have been fantastic this season and their first game this season on October 28th was awesome, with the Knights winning 4-3 in a shootout on the road in LA. Vegas is coming off their first regulation loss of the year on Sunday, losing 4-2 on the road in Anaheim, blowing a 2-0 lead and giving up four goals in the third period. The Kings have been very good as well, on a three-game winning streak, picking up at least a point in each of their last six games. I’d expect this game to be close but don’t see Vegas losing two in a row. I’ll take them for half a unit. I like the over as well with the total at just 6, so I’ll take that for half a unit as well.
