Last night with the Oilers season ended as they lost to the Sharks, I finished the night going 8-8 to lose half a unit. Tonight we have a pretty good six game Friday night NHL slate including my biggest game of the year. Let’s kill it!
Sabres vs. Wild (7:00)
This should be a fun game for my boys tonight at home, coming back from their 3-2 overtime loss to the Hurricanes on Wednesday night against the Wild, who are coming off a 4-1 loss (winner) to the Rangers at MSG last night. I like my Sabres to win here tonight and I’ll take them for half a unit. I like the over more though, which I’ll take for a unit.
Maple Leafs vs. Flames (7:00)
Even though the Flames have won their last two games in a row and the Leafs are in a bit of a slump coming off a 6-3 loss at home against the Sens with just one win in their last six games, Toronto’s the far better team here. I expect them to win tonight in this cross-conference Canadian matchup. I’ll take the Leafs for a unit.
Panthers vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
I think this ends up being a pretty fun game. Although the Panthers are better so far this season than I expected them to be, the Canes are the better team in this matchup. I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Devils vs. Capitals (7:00)
The Caps won the first game between these Metro Division teams 6-4 in Jersey on October 25th which was a bit of a surprise to me. Even with Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes out of the lineup for the Devils, they’re still a far better team than the Caps and I like them to answer back with a win on the road tonight. The price on the moneyline is too expensive with a consensus price around -200, but I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I like the over too, but not quite enough to bet on it with the Caps trending under.
Golden Knights vs. Sharks (10:00)
This is such a huge mismatch in the Fortress tonight with Vegas facing their biggest rival in the Sharks that are in the second half of a back to back. I think the Golden Knights are the best team in the NHL and I think they go back to win and defend their title this season by winning another Cup. They’re so fucking good. Despite coming off two losses in a row, losing 4-2 in Anaheim on Sunday and then 4-1 to the Kings on Wednesday, they should dominate and blow out San Jose tonight. The Sharks meanwhile, despite coming off two wins in a row after beating the Flyers and the completely broken Oilers last night (and ending their season), are the worst team in the NHL by far. Arguably in history. The moneyline is the highest I think I’ve seen in three years tonight at -520. That’s insane for a hockey game. Even the regulation line is like -300. Thats nuts. I’m still smashing Vegas though. I’ll lay the juice on the puck line for a unit and I’ll parlay Vegas team total over 3.5 with the Sharks team total under 2.5 for 2.5 units as my biggest play of the year so far. I also considered betting Jack Eichel’s points and Jonathan Marchessault to score, but I’ll just stick to the hammer plays I already have in this game.
Ducks vs. Flyers (10:00)
The Ducks had their impressive six game win streak come to an end on Tuesday night as they were shut out 2-0 at home against the Penguins. The Flyers after their hot start have been horrible this season. They just lost 2-1 to the worst team in history in the Flyers and they’ve gotten just one win in their last six games. I love the Ducks to bounce back with a win tonight here and even though the price doesn’t really make sense to me, I’ll take them for a unit.
