I crushed yesterday’s hockey slate with my best night of the season, going 8-1 to win 4.43 units, my only loss on the Rangers needing a shootout to win while I had them in regulation. Tonight we just have two NHL games, let’s get a small win.
Oilers vs. Islanders (8:30)
What a shitty game this is. The Oilers have been a complete and utter mess this season. They just fired Jay Woodcroft yesterday. After they got a beat 3-2 by the Sharks and hit rock bottom (which in my eyes ended their season) on Thursday night, they picked up their third win of the season to end their four game losing streak with a 4-1 win in Seattle on Saturday, after a hot 4-0 start to the game in the first period with a natural hat trick by Zach Hyman. Their offense, including Connor and Leon is broken and their defense and goaltending is horrible. The Islanders aren’t great either and they’re on a four game losing streak after a 4-1 loss at home to the Caps on Saturday. I’d lean the Oilers win here at home but no chance I’m betting on them. I’d also slightly lean the over, but neither of these teams can score, so I’ll just stay off it completely.
Kraken vs. Avalanche (10:00)
Neither of these teams have played all that well lately, both coming off losses, each with just one win in their last four games. These teams split their first two games this season, with the Avs winning 4-1 in Seattle on October 17th and the Kraken answering back with a 4-3 win in Colorado. I don’t love this matchup, but I’d expect the Avs to win here and will take them for half a unit as my only play today. I’d lean the over but not enough to bet that either.
