NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/25/23

I got killed on the NHL yesterday, going a brutal 6-13, losing 10.32 units. My worst day of the season. Today we have a “smaller” eight game slate for a Saturday. Let’s bounce back today.

Rangers vs. Bruins (1:00)

I had both of these teams yesterday and split their games. The Bruins kind of shocked me as they lost 4-2 in Detroit while the Rangers did exactly as I expected, beating the Flyers 3-1 on the road. I’d slightly lean the Bruins bounce back from that loss with a win on the road tonight but the side on this game is way too close for me to bet so I’ll stay off it. I like the under though, which I’ll take for half a unit, expecting a defensive battle between two of the best defenses in the NHL.

Kings vs. Canadiens (4:00)

These teams are both coming off wins yesterday afternoon on the road, both making me money with the Kings dominating the Ducks in a 5-2 win and the Habs beating the “free money” Sharks with a 3-2 win in overtime. LA’s the way better team than the Canadiens in this matchup and I like them to dominate at home this afternoon. The moneyline is too pricey for me at -265, but I’ll take the Kings in regulation and their team total over 3.5 for a unit each. I’d lean the over but not enough to bet it.

Devils vs. Sabres (7:00)

Interesting matchup here. Last night my Sabres had a big comeback win, beating the Penguins 3-2 at home with a solid three goal third period. They looked pretty slow in the first two periods and got some new life for a solid win in the last twenty minutes of the game. The Devils let me down big time again last night, losing 2-1 at home to the shitty Blue Jackets. They’ve been in a big slump lately with just one win in their last seven games. I’d lean the Devils and the over here, but not enough to bet either, so I’ll just sit back and watch this game as a fan.

Penguins vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)

This should be an awesome game in the East tonight. Both of these teams are coming off losses yesterday that surprised me. Like I said above, the Pens blew a 2-0 after two periods, giving up three goals to my Sabres to lose 3-2 last night. The Leafs were even more disappointing last night, losing 4-3 in overtime to the Blackhawks after blowing a 3-1 lead. I feel like this game is pretty close to a toss up. I’d slightly lean the Leafs and the over, but not enough to bet on either, so I’ll lay off this one completely.

Islanders vs. Flyers (7:30)

To me this is a shitty game, but a solid matchup, if that makes sense. These teams just played on Wednesday night with the Isles winning 3-2 at home. After a 5-3 win on the road for the Isles against the Senators yesterday and a 3-1 loss at home to the Rangers for the Flyers they get a rematch. I picked the exact 3-2 score in this game and didn’t bet on it and would lean tonight we get the same score again, but once again I’m not betting it. I’d slightly lean the Isles and the under, but I’ll stay off this game completely.

Avalanche vs. Flames (10:00)

I wouldn’t have thought this would be a good game, but the more I look at it, the more interesting it is. The Avalanche have been really solid, and coming off their 3-2 win on the road in Minnesota last night, they’ve won five of their last six games. The Flames pulled off an impressive upset yesterday, beating the Stars 7-4 when Dallas was my favorite play of the night. I got killed on that slate, but that was the result I was easily the most shocked by, even though Calgary has played well lately. Colorado’s the better team here and I like them to get a win tonight at home and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Golden Knights vs. Coyotes (10:00)

These were the only two teams in the NHL that did not play yesterday. Vegas got out of their slump on Wednesday night with a huge 2-1 overtime win on the road against the Stars on a beautiful, highlight reel goal by Jack Eichel. This team is still my pick to win the Stanley Cup and they’re still one of the best teams in the league. The Coyotes are going to be a pain in the ass for teams to play against every night, but Vegas is the way better team here. I’ll take them for 1.5 units in regulation at home in the Fortress tonight. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to consider betting on, so I’ll just roll with the VGK. Make sure you shop this line, I got it at -137 on BetRivers last night while it was -175 on both DraftKings and Fanduel.

Sharks vs. Canucks (10:00)

The Sharks are a gift this season. They cashed in for us once again yesterday afternoon, losing 3-2 in overtime to the Habs. Fading San Jose is as close to “free money” that you’re gonna get in hockey. Tonight they’re facing a Canucks team that got two easy wins against them already this season, winning in a 10-1 blowout in SJ on November 2nd and then 3-1 at home last Monday. Last night the Canucks dominated the Kraken with a 5-1 win on the road (split that one, a goal short on the over). Obviously I like them to crush the Sharks tonight. I’m hitting Vancouver every way tonight. I’ll go with two units on them in regulation, 1.5 units on their team total over 3.5, a unit on the Sharks team total under 2.5, a unit on the Canucks -2.5, and half a unit shot on the Canucks -3.5 with incredible odds (boosted on BetRivers) at +540.
