Coming off a nice comeback win yesterday, tonight the Sabres got completely dominated in the worst game of the season, losing 7-2 on the road to the Devils in a pathetic effort. Horrible game.

The Devils opened the scoring just 1:31 into the game as Alexander Holtz placed the puck perfectly over Comrie’s shoulder after a defensive breakdown for the Sabres. With 8:51 left in the first, Tyler Toffoli made it a 2-0 game on the 6 on 5 for a delayed penalty, tapping in the rebound for a goal. They got another one on a pathetic goal for the Sabres to give up. Comrie made the save on the three on two, but gave up a huge rebound and slid too far from the net for an easy goal offf the leg of Nico Hischier to make it 3-0 Devils with 4:40 left in the first. With 1:33 left in the period, Ondrej Palat took a quick pass from Jesper Bratt to make this even more embarrassing at 4-0. What a fucking embarrassing period to start the game. Horrible on both ends of the ice, getting completely dominated both offensively and defensively.

Coming out in the second period, Devon Levi started the period between the pipes in relief of Comrie. The Sabres got on the board with 1:53 into the second period with Skinner getting a nice power play goal after some good movement of the puck by Buffalo, making it 4-1 game. Jersey answered right back though with Toffoli making it 5-1 tipping in the rebound after the initial save from Levi. Pathetic defense to lead to that goal. Another lousy period. This game’s a joke.

The Devils made in 6-1 just 50 seconds into the third period to farther the embarrassment. Kyle Okposo tipped in a shot from Owen Power to make it slightly less  pathetic of a score on the power play with 16:05 left in the game. Like a minute later though, Luke Hughes made it 7-2 on the power play of their own. I deserve a metal for still watching this game.

Horrendous game. Worst one of the season. Nothing good about this game in a completely pathetic effort on both ends of the ice. We generated just eleven shots on goals, only one shot more than the fewest in franchise history as we were outshot 38-11. We got completely dominated, getting crushed by an expected 4.51-1.46.

Monday we play the Rangers, who will probably kill us again.
