NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/26/23

The Canucks fucked me big time last night losing to the Sharks (0-5), which swung me to a second bad day in a row on the NHL, going 3-7 to lose 7.77 units. Horrible two days. We have a five game Sunday slate today. Let’s chip away at it.

Red Wings vs. Wild (1:00)

This isn’t the best game to start the day. The Wild have really struggled this season and come into today’s game on a six game losing streak with just two wins in their last twelve games. Detroit’s played well this year though, coming off a really solid 5-2 win in Boston on Friday. I like the Red Wings to win again today and even with Alex Lyon in goal, I don’t see how they’re home dogs. I’ll take Detroit for half a unit at pretty close to a pick’em. I’d lean the over but not enough to bet it.

Blackhawks vs. Blues (2:00)

This isn’t a great matchup but it wouldn’t surprising me if we end up seeing an interesting game. The Blackhawks ended their five game losing streak on Friday with a surprising 4-3 overtime win over the Leafs. The Blues have played above my expectations, coming into today’s game with a 10-8-1 record after getting embarrassed 8-3 at home to the Preds on Friday. I’d lean the Blues bounce back with a win here, but not enough to bet it. I liked the over too, but I just have a feeling this game ends up with six goals, so I’ll stay off this one entirely.

Hurricanes vs. Blue Jackets (5:00)

Pretty huge mismatch here in the Central Division. The Hurricanes are a really solid team, despite underperforming to my expectations so far this season. They’re coming off a 8-2 blowout loss at home against Tampa on Friday (so many weird results that day coming out of Thanksgiving). The Blue Jackets have been one of the worst teams in the NHL this season but they’re coming into today off back to back wins, winning 7-3 at home against Chicago on Wednesday and then beating Jersey on the road 2-1 on Friday. This is a big “get right spot” to me for the Canes. The moneyline isnt worth it whatsoever at -310, but I found some nice value on the regulation line on BetRivers at just -167, which I’ll take for 1.5 units. I like the over too, and I’ll take the alternate over 6 for half a unit.

Predators vs. Jets (8:00)

Both of these teams are coming into tonight on pretty good win streaks. Coming off an 8-3 blowout win in St. Louis on Friday, the Preds have picked up the pace with four straight wins. The Jets have been really good. They shut out the Panthers on the road on Friday and come into tonight on a five game winning streak with just one loss in their last nine games, picking up at least a point in 13 of their last 15 games. In that run, they beat the Preds 6-3 at home on November 9th. I like them to win again tonight on the road in Smashville and I’ll take them for half a unit.

Oilers vs. Ducks (9:00)

This game isn’t great between two of the worst teams in the Pacific. The Ducks after their hot start have cooled down quite a bit. They come into tonight’s game on a five game losing streak. The Oilers are still a completely mess. They ended their three game losing streak with a shocker, beating the Caps 5-0 on the road on Friday. I don’t trust the Oilers in the slightest and although I’d lean they win this game, they’re not even close to worth betting on at the expensive -285 price and I’m going to chase some value here with half a unit on the Ducks at a nice +240. I also like the over, which I’ll take for a unit.
