NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/29/23

Last night I took the day off on the big ten game NHL slate. My leans in my blog trended to the winning side which was nice to see after three bad days this past week. Tonight we have just three games before a huge slate tomorrow, let’s chip away.

Blue Jackets vs. Canadiens (7:00)

This isn’t a great matchup between two pretty terrible teams. The Blue Jackets have played surprisingly well in their last four games, coming off a 5-2 win against the Bruins that shocked me. The Habs are coming off a 4-0 loss in LA after wins against SJ and Anaheim. In the first game between these two teams this season, Montreal needed overtime for a 4-3 win at home. I’d give a slight edge to the Jackets here at home, but no way I’m betting that. I do like the over though, which I will take for half a unit.

Rangers vs. Red Wings (7:30)

This should be a pretty fun matchup between two original six teams. Both of these teams have played well this season. The Rangers shocked me (or more so my Sabres shocked me), losing 5-1 at home against Buffalo on Monday night (big loss for me). Detroit, who just acquired Patrick Kane (who’s still out with injury) to reunited with Alex DeBrincat, is on a three game win streak, playing awesome. They’re one of the best offensive teams in the NHL. In the first game between these teams, the Rags won 5-3 at home. I like the Rangers to bounce back from Monday’s loss with another win at home tonight, giving them a pretty big defensive edge. That edge isn’t enough for me to bet on a -200 though. That’s way too expensive, so I’ll stay off it. I’d slightly lean the under, but that’s not enough of an edge for me to bet on.

Kings vs. Capitals (10:30)

The Kings have been fantastic this year, coming into tonight’s game on a five game win streak with an 11-1-2 record in their last 14 games, coming off a 4-0 shutout win over the Habs on Saturday. The Caps have played far above my expectations this year with fantastic defense but let me down big time in their last two games, ruining my night on Monday with their 2-1 loss in SJ, hitting a bunch of posts in key times that would’ve swung their game and a 5-0 shutout to the Oilers on Saturday. I like the Kings to win this game at home. I think the moneyline is too expensive at -210, but I’ll take LA in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.

Game Bets

.5u Blue Jackets/Canadiens over 6.5 (-118)

.5u Kings in regulation (-130)

Futures

4u Vegas Golden Knights – Stanley Cup Champions (+1000)

Record: 156-152-2 (-28.29 units)
