I’m a few days late watching Bachelor in Paradise. Last Thursday was the penultimate episode of this season of Paradise, really without many strong relationships but plenty of drama on the beach. With the two hour Golden Bachelor finale, Paradise was just an hour this week.
The first thing that gets brought up is that Blake talks to Jess after Katie, his ex-fiance, former Bachelorette came to the beach. He tells Jess that it brought up feelings and that even though he had way more time with her than he did on The Bachelorette with Katie, they’re not even close to as strong. So thats the end of them as he says it feels like they’re just “playing Paradise” at this point and that it’s not going to work. Pretty clean breakup. Blake leaves Paradise and Kylee follows him to find out what happened with him and Jess. She tries to not have him go, and is pretty emotional about her exit, almost more than she’s shown caring about Aven.
Next up to go talk are Mercedes and Tyler. She says it feels like he isn’t really trying to pursue her and straight up tells him that it seems like he’s just there for a fling, and that he hasn’t really tried. He says he hasn’t found a spark with them and that he had to figure that out. Pretty bad sign there. She tells him that he’s probably not going to him her rose. So they’re done and he leaves Paradise.
Jordan, who Rachel sent home on the first date of her season of The Bachelorette, has Rachel all into him again and she’s set on giving him her rose, but he has other ideas. He’s interested in Mercedes and with Tyler gone now, he goes to talk to her. Brayden also decides to swoop him and he asks Jess to talk. He makes a sweet little gesture and brings her a box of chocolates. She talks to Taylor (who I forgot was even here), and then Tanner swoops in to talk to her. It’s like she instantly became the Bachelorette of Paradise. He says that with her being so into Blake she was closed off to exploring other options, which he says is a green flag to him because of how loyal she was to Blake and that he liked that quality. She says she does want to get to know him.
Onto the rose ceremony with the ladies having the roses. First the obvious roses. Eliza’s to Aaron, Kat’s to John Henry, Kylee’s to Aven, Olivia to Michael, Sam to Peter. Then we have the three final roses. First up of those is Jess who gives her rose to Tanner. Taylor awkwardly steps forward until he realizes that she didn’t ask him. Next up is Mercedes. She gives her use to Jordan, who accepts it. That leaves Rachel, who now clearly has no idea who her rose is going to. She steps away from the rose ceremony, decides that its time to go and leaves Paradise. That also sends Brayden and Taylor home.
Next week, the finale of this season of Bachelor in Paradise.
