Kind of a boring first week of dates for Joey on The Bachelor

Joey kicked off his season of The Bachelor last week, with an interesting cast of ladies and a twist that got thrown into the fire quicker than it was opened. This week the dates start off as Joey really begins his journey to find love.

The dates begin this week, and first its the first group date of the week with “here comes the bride on the date card”. So obviously the date starts with all the girls putting on wedding dresses. For the date, all of the girls have to pretend they’re at their wedding reception with Joey, but only one of the girls gets the first dance with Joey. They start with “bridal musical chairs”. At the date, Lauren, one of the two sisters, who I didn’t really like from the start, was extra dramatic thinking about her dad, who passed away. Rachel, who has a great toast, is the winner of the first dance. Michael Bolton (always think of Office Space with him), sings When a Man Loves a Woman for them to dance to. Jess, who annoyed me in the first episode and I think is still playing up the dramatics a bit, gets the group date rose for being open with Joey about her past relationship.

Daisy, who was my favorite in the season premiere last week, gets the first one on one date of the season. She seems like such a sweetheart. They start the date off with a helicopter ride. They then go to a music festival together. During the festival they get to dance on stage for one of the concerts. At dinner, Daisy tells Joey about her health issues, losing her hearing, and her cochlear implant. Obviously Joey gives her the rose. Much deserved. She seems great.

For the second group date, which is hosted by Jubilee from Ben’s season (which was before I watched this show) and Demi (STAR) from Colton’s season of The Bachelor, the ladies do Bachelor Boot Camp. They play a paint balloon version of Capture the Flag (Heart). The blue team wins, but the one interesting twist…only one lady from the winning team will get to spend extra time with Joey. The girl that gets the card to spend more time with him is Edwina. She talks about growing up and Joey gives her the rose.

There’s complete nonsense drama at the house between Medina and Maria, who are two of the oldest people in the house about their ages. Maria was real annoying last week, and she’s still annoying again this week, FOR NO REASON.

At the cocktail party, Lauren decides to leave. As she’s telling Joey that she’s leaving, she gets brought a cake, that’s supposed to be red velvet (which sucks), for a reason that I don’t know (that I might have been not paying attention to), and it’s not red velvet. Much ado about nothing.

Kind of a boring first week of dates for Joey.

Onto the rose ceremony. Rachel gets the first rose, which isn’t really a surprise seeing that she won the extra time in the first group date. With the last rose of the evening, Joey give the rose to Sydney, who was involved in the whole age nonsense, but really, no one even knows the ladies that went home, so its early enough for it not to matter.

The journey continues next week.
