After the dates (as well as the drama) started last week, Joey’s journey as The Bachelor continues this week.
This week begins with a group date with Joey looking for Mrs. Right. A few of the ladies from The Golden Bachelor; Nancy, April, Susan, and Kathy helping Joey run the date. It’s a pageant date, which we usually get, and it’s usually pretty underwhelming every year. The Golden ladies ask all the girls a bunch of questions. A bunch of the girls then do their little routines. One girl Sydney, who had previously done pageants, does a whole cheerleading routine that’s SO awkward to watch. To follow that up, Lexi says she’s the world’s best kisser and makes out with Joey on stage. That move wins her the Mrs. Right title. A lot of the other girls are real pissed about that. Maria, who was super annoying last week tells Joey in the cocktail party that it was a very tough day for her. She then calls him out for the whole kissing thing. Medina, who was involved in a bit of drama last week (with Maria) with being the oldest one in the house. Joey asks her about it, she makes the smart move of not bringing it up, but since she says she felt bullied, Joey’s concerned. He ends up giving the group date rose to Kelsey, who hasn’t really had much air time at all. After that he tells the ladies on the group date that hearing that there’s bullying in the house concerns him. After Joey walks away, Medina, Maria, and Sydney get into it about the whole situation. Especially Maria is extremely ridiculous. The other girls also don’t really think there was any bullying in the house and that Sydney is making a lot of drama for no real reason.
Jenn gets the one on one date this week. They do a fun surfing date that they both enjoy. At dinner she opens up to Joey about her family history and that she doesn’t have a relationship with her dad. They finish the date with a drone light show, ending with it beautifully spelling “Jenn, will you accept this rose”, which of course she does, with Eyes on You by Michael Bolton playing in the background.
The second group date is another fun one, tennis! Of course Joey’s a tennis pro, so we knew this date was coming. The ladies do a tennis tournament all wearing costumes. Everyone has a great time on that date, with Evelyn and Kelsey, dressed up as a lobster and butter, with the tournament. At the end of a completely drama free group date, Joey gives the rose to Katelyn.
After a KFC ad deal that fills the air for a few minutes, they do a pool day instead of the cocktail party. More drama with Sydney stirring up shit about the whole Maria thing. She talks to Joey and acts it up quite a bit making Maria seem like the worst girl there is. I can’t wait for the obvious two on one date that this conversation is setting up. Of course, Joey then goes to talk to Maria. She defends herself and tells Joey that they’re such complete opposite people that she doesn’t see how he could like both of them. Joey says that how Maria was talking about it to him seems a lot more real than Sydney’s side. Unless one of these girls send themselves home, this has to set up a two on one date. Has to!
Onto the rose ceremony. With the second last rose, Joey gives it to Maria, and with the final rose of the evening, Joey gives it to Sydney. No surprise whatsoever there, setting up what has to be a two on one date next week. I hope they both get sent home.
Next week, it’s two nights of The Bachelor, Monday and Tuesday, as the journey continues!
