Last night on The Bachelor we had the anticipated two on one date with Maria and Sydney, with Sydney ultimately being sent home. But quickly after that, things blew up again, as Lea became the new villain because she didn’t like that the rest of the girls were being nice to Maria and didn’t care that Sydney was gone…completely immature nonsense for a 23 year old CHILD. Tonight the drama continues on the second of the two night event (which we typically never get till late in the season), as Joey’s journey continues in Malta.
The cocktail party comes to an end with the drama from yesterday and it’s right to the rose ceremony. Not really any surprises for the women that receive roses, and with the final rose of the night, Joey gives it to Lea. I wasn’t thrilled that she’s staying around but obviously the producers would make that happen, sending Edwina and Allison home.
For the next stop of the journey, Joey and his remaining ladies head to Spain. Kelsey A. gets the one on one date to start the week. They start off exploring to get ingredients for a picnic and have a good time together, although their connection doesn’t seem that strong. At dinner, Kelsey opens up about her mom passing away when she was younger and that it’s hard for her to think about that she won’t be there for special moments for her. Joey appreciates her openness with him and gives her the rose.
Onto the group date for the week. They start the date with painting to express themselves and then present them to Joey and the group. Jess wins the extra time with Joey and gets to do a couples art thing where they paint each other’s bodies and roll around and make out on a canvas. At the afterparty, Maria opens up to Joey about her family, a really bad car accident that she and her mom were in as a child. Joey appreciates that, and gives her the group date rose.
Rachel gets the second one on one date of the week, with let’s dance on the date card. They start their date learning a flamenco dance and then getting to perform it. They have fun and Rachel gets Joey to come out of his shell a bit. At dinner that night, she opens up to Joey about her career as a nurse and comes out of her shell a little bit more. You can tell that Joey really likes her, he tells her that he’s fine with the slower burn of getting to know her, and gives her the rose.
At the cocktail party, a few of the girls, who clearly don’t have strong connections, especially Jess, get jealous of Maria spending more time with Joey while she already has a rose. I say this every season, but worry about your own connections and that will do much better than worrying about the others. After Maria talks to Joey and comes back in the house, Jess calls her out that it was a little disrespectful, which Maria asks her for clarity on. Another fight to me that feels like its much ado about nothing with girls being immature.
Rose ceremony time. Lea gets a rose again, and with the final rose of the evening…
“Jess, will you accept this rose?”
I was kind of hoping she was going home. That rose sends Medina and Autumn both home. I think Joey should’ve chosen both of them over Jess and Lea.
Next week, Joey and the ladies head back West to Montreal for journey to continue!
