Second winning day for a row for me on the NHL yesterday, going 3-1 (with the loss coming a goal short on the Wild puck line) to win .82 units. Tonight we have a six game slate, let’s make it three straight winning days!
Maple Leafs vs. Bruins (7:00)
Really solid Atlantic Division matchup in this game between two of the top three teams in the division. These teams split their first two games, both needing overtime as the Bruins won 3-2 in a shootout at home and then 4-3 in OT on the road. They come in on different trajectories though as the Leafs are playing fantastic while the B’s have struggled. I’d lean the over and that Toronto gets a win at home here, but I’ll lay off this game completely.
Rangers vs. Panthers (7:00)
Fantastic cross conference matchup here between two of the best teams in the East. They’re both playing great on both ends of the ice as they lead their Divisions. The first game between these teams was close with the Panthers winning 4-3 at home. I feel like they’re the better team (and they’re my pick to win the East) and I’d lean they win again. I’d lean the under in this matchup but the best bet on this game is nothing at all. I’ll stay off it.
Flyers vs. Blues (7:00)
Interesting cross conference matchup. Both of these teams are coming off wins on Saturday, but haven’t played great lately. The Flyers are the better team here and currently hold the third spot in the Metro Division. I’d lean they win at home to sweep the season series after their 4-2 win in St. Louis in January. I’ll stay off this game though, I don’t see any value on betting it.
Blue Jackets vs. Golden Knights (7:00)
This cross conference game isn’t great. Although the Golden Knights are struggling lately, with a ton of key injuries, they’re the FAR better team in this matchup. They should win this game pretty easily. I was debating between the Knights team total and the regulation line and I think I like them to get the win in regulation better, which I’ll take for half a unit. I’d lean the over but not enough to bet it.
Avalanche vs. Blackhawks (9:00)
Horrible mismatch here in the Central Division. The number reflects it too, as the Avs are -425. Colorado’s 2-1 against the Blackhawks, winning 4-0 at home, losing 3-2 on the road and then getting another shutout with a 5-0 win on the road last Thursday. I fully expect another easy Avalanche win to bounce back from their 5-1 loss in Nashville last week. My first thoughts on this game were to take the team totals with the Avs over and the Blackhawks under but those are even too expensive, so I’ll keep it simple and take the Avalanche puck line for half a unit. I’d lean the under on the game but not enough to bet it.
Flames vs. Kraken (9:30)
Not a great Pacific Division matchup here with both of these teams outside of playoff spots. The Flames are rolling right now, coming into tonight on a five game win streak with nine wins in their last twelve games. The Kraken haven’t been terrible, especially defensively lately. Calgary leads the season series here 2-1, winning 6-3 on the road, 4-3 in overtime on the road, and then losing 2-1 at home. I’d lean the Flames win here and the under, but this is a game I think is the best to lay off, which I will.
