NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 3/10/24

I crushed yesterday’s NHL games, my Sabres were the only team that kept me from sweep the board, going 8-1 to win 3.1 units. Great night! Today we have just a five game slate, let’s win again!

Penguins vs. Oilers (1:00)

Decent cross conference game to get the day started, but this is a pretty big mismatch. Both of these teams are coming off losses yesterday. The Oilers gave me my only loss of the day, not beating my Sabres (twice) where I won as the Pens got blown out 5-1 to Boston. The first game between these teams a week ago was a 6-1 blowout at home for the Oilers and I expect them to win again. I’ll take Edmonton for half a unit on the road at a price that’s cheaper than I expected to bounce back from yesterday’s loss. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Wild vs. Predators (3:30)

The Preds are on fire lately. Yesterday they extended their point streak to 11 straight games, with a 2-1 win in Columbus, and they have just one loss in that span. The Wild haven’t played great as of late. Nashville leads the season series between these Central Division teams 2-1, losing 6-1 at home, then winning 3-2 on the road and 6-1 at home. I’d lean Smashville wins on the road here today too, but in the second half of a back to back on the road against a divisional opponent, this feels like one thats best to just stay off. I’d slightly lean the under, but don’t see any edge in betting it.

Hurricanes vs. Flames (5:00)

Interesting matchup here with both of these teams playing well and in the second half of a back to backs after games on the road yesterday afternoon. Carolina’s on fire, coming off a 4-2 win in Jersey, and they’re my pick to lose in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Panthers. The Flames have played solid hockey but are coming off a 5-1 loss in Florida yesterday. Calgary won the first game between these teams 3-2 at home in December. I like the Canes to win here at home and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.

Blackhawks vs. Coyotes (6:00)

This is such a shitty matchup. Both of these teams fucking blow. They split their first two games, with the Yotes winning an 8-1 blowout at home and then the Blackhawks last week winning 5-2 on the road. Arizona’s the way better team here since Chicago’s the worst team in the NHL, but there’s no chance I’m betting this game and laying -185 on the Coyotes on the road. I’d also slightly lean the over, but I’m staying off this game completely.

Ducks vs. Islanders (8:00)

Not the best matchup to close out the night. The Islanders are playing really well right now. Coming off a 7-2 blowout, they’re on a five game win streak trying to chase down the Flyers for third in the Metro. The Ducks have been playing pretty awful on the year, but they’re playing relatively well lately with three wins in their last five games. The Isles won the first game between these teams 4-3 on Long Island in December and I like them to win again on the road tonight. I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the over but would rather just stick with New York here.
