Despite the Bruins killing me with their sloppy overtime loss to the Leafs, I still had another great night on the NHL Playoffs with the Canes and Avs winning their series, finishing the night 9-6 winning 5.12 units, even with the huge loss on Boston. Tonight we have just two games, let’s keep rolling!
Game 5 – Stars vs. Golden Knights (7:30)
This has been a fantastic series, tied going back to Dallas for Game 5, but the way it happened is opposite of what you’d expect, with the road team having won all four games. I hedged out of my series bet for this to go over 5.5 games before Game 3 after Vegas looked like they’d cruise to a series win up 2-0 heading home, but that turned out to be wrong as Dallas won both games in Vegas to tie up the series. I have futures on both of these teams to win the Cup and still think that the winner of this series ends up lifting Lord Stanley. I think tonight the Stars flip the script here and get the first home win of the series and their first lead of the series, which I expect to go 7 games. I’ll take Dallas for a unit tonight. I’d lean the over slightly, but not enough to bet it.
Game 5 – Oilers vs. Kings (10:00)
After wins in both games in LA, the Oilers take a commanding 3-1 series lead back to Edmonton for Game 5 tonight with the chance to advance to the second round and rest while await their opponent of either the Preds or Canucks. With high scoring wins in Games 1-3, the Oilers struggled offensively in Game 4 on Sunday night, as they were outshot 33-13, but still found a way to win with a 1-0 shutout win for Stuart Skinner, who was fantastic in goal. I’m very confident the Oilers bounce back nicely tonight at home and get the win here tonight to end this series. I’ll win three units on that series play, and I’ll double down on the Oil tonight. I’ll take them in regulation for 1.5 units, their team total over 3.5 for a unit, their team total over 4.5 for half a unit, and the puck line for half a unit. I like the over on this game again, not expecting such a slow, low scoring game again and I’ll take it for a unit at + money. Let’s Go Oil!
