Last night was the first night of the NHL Playoffs this year that’s been a disaster, as I went a horrendous 1-6 to lose 11 units. Luckily it’s been a great first round, so we’re still up a ton here. Tonight we have an incredible Game 7 between the Bruins and Leafs. Let’s bounce back!!
Game 7 – Bruins vs. Maple Leafs (8:00)
Similar to last season, it looks like the Bruins have completely collapsed in this series. After being easily the better team in Games 1-4 as they took a 3-1 series lead, they’ve been horrible in Games 5 and 6 for the Leafs to force Game 7. The start of both of those games has been horrible, getting outshot 11-2 in the first period of Game 5 and then 12-1 in Game 6. The face-offs have been horrendous for Boston, so they’re not even getting possessions with the puck. For as fantastic as Jeremy Swayman has been playing in goal for the B’s, Joseph Woll has been incredible these last two games. He almost got rewarded with a shutout in Game 6 that ended with 0.1 seconds left. For as much as the Leafs choke in Game 7s, I think the momentum is on their side here and I think the Bruins blow a 3-1 series lead in the first round for the second year in a row. Complete collapse. I’ll take the Leafs tonight for a unit. Game 7s typically trend under, and I love the under in this one tonight especially after these last two games. I think this ends up being another goaltending battle and really like it to stay under. The line is 5, but I’ll take the alternate 5.5 for 2.5 units.
