For the second game in a row, the Hurricanes lost in overtime, a disaster for my bets. The Stars avoided blowing a 4-0 lead and I finished the night 2-2 to lose 2.36 units. Let’s start rolling on tonight’s playoff games!
Game 3 – Bruins vs. Panthers (7:00)
For as lopsided the score of Game 1 in this series was with the Bruins winning 5-1, the Panthers played way better than what that score showed. Florida bounced back huge in Game 2 though, dominating on their way to a 6-1 win at home to tie the series. That game had some incredible fireworks to it, and the Panthers outshot the Bruins 33-15, with Jeremy Swayman getting run out of the net for the first time all playoffs. Florida’s the better team in this series and I like them to keep winning as it shifts over to Boston tonight. I’ll take them for a unit along with half a unit on the puck line. I’d lean the under, just as I was on in both games in Florida, but I’ll stay off the side here.
Game 2 – Canucks vs. Oilers (10:00)
Vancouver played solid hockey to start off Game 1 of this series at home on Wednesday night, but they found themselves down 4-1 more than halfway through the the second period. That’s when the game flipped though and the Oilers went 23 minutes without a shot, completely blowing that game in a total collapse, losing 5-4. I’m not overly worried about that for Edmonton. I doubled down on my series bets with them yesterday and they should come into tonight’s game pissed off about how pathetic of a performance that was. I love the Oilers to bounce back here tonight and I’ll double down on them to win tonight with 2 units on Edmonton and a unit on the puck line. I like the over again too, which I’ll take at 6 for a unit.
