NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/12/24

My hedge on the Rangers series worked perfect last night, but I lost it back on the Ava game, going 1-3 last night to lose 0.96 units. Tonight the NHL Playoffs continue. Let’s bounce back again!

Game 4 – Bruins vs. Panthers (6:30)

Every game of this series has been a blowout now. In Game 1 the Bruins took home ice in the series with a big 5-1 win in Florida despite the game being much closer than that score looked. The Panthers dominated in a 6-1 win in Game 2 on Wednesday, and then once again controlled Game 3, getting out to a 4-0 lead as the clearly better team and going on to take home ice in the series back with a dominant 6-2 win on the road in Boston. That game was another physical one and with a questionable hit from Sam Bennett, the Bruins will be without captain Brad Marchand tonight for Game 4. Florida’s the better team here and I love them to win this series along with this game, especially without Marchand. I’ll take Florida for 2 units along with half a unit each on the puck line and their team total over 3.5. I’ve leaned the unders in this series, but the over’s hit in all of these blowouts. I’ll flip the script and jump on the over 5.5 for half a unit at even money.

Game 3 – Oilers vs. Canucks (9:30)

After blowing a 4-1 lead and not getting a shot in like 24 minutes to lose 5-4 in Game 1, the Oilers bounced back on the road in Game 2 to tie up this series and take home ice back to Edmonton tonight. To finish the game, the Oilers outshot the Canucks 18-4, outshooting Vancouver 31-19 on the way to a 4-3 overtime win. As Biz put it in the TNT postgame, Connor McDavid went into “McJesus mode” with a four point night, contributing on every Oilers goal of the game, including scoring the game tying goal on a breakaway. The game winner from Bouchard tipped in off Ian Cole’s stick and into his own net. I underestimated the Canucks going into this series and the goaltending from Silovs has actually been shockingly good. With the series going back to Edmonton, I love the Oilers to win this one at home, but the price on this game is much more expensive than while they were on the road. I’ll take the Oilers in regulation and their team total over 3.5 for a unit each. I’ll also go right back to the over for a unit. Loyal to the Oil!
