NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/20/24

The Oilers forced Game 7 on Saturday night with a huge 5-1 win, keeping my series play alive but losing my Canucks team total hedge, losing me 1.8 units. Tonight we have Game 7, the two best words in sports to advance to face the Stars in the Western Conference Finals. Let’s go!

Game 7 – Canucks vs. Oilers (9:00)

Game 7. The two greatest words in sports and tonight we have an All Canada matchup for it with one game to determine who will go on and face the awaiting Stars in the Western Conference Finals. The Oilers bounced back in fantastic fashion from their pathetic Game 5 performance on the road with a huge 5-1 dominant victory at home in Game 6 on Saturday night to force tonight’s game. They outshot the Canucks 27-15 and played great on both ends of the ice. I went into this series thinking this would be a quick series with the Oilers winning in five or six games. Clearly that didn’t happen and I underestimated the Canucks. I still think that Edmonton wins this series though and with my series bet when I doubled down on them after the Game 1 loss, I have some solid value here tonight, essentially with three units on the moneyline at -140 rather than at -162 that it is now. I like the Oilers to win this series tonight, especially with Vancouver missing their best player tonight as it got announced this morning that Brock Boeser will unfortunately be out with a blood clotting issue. I’m just going to let that series play ride on them for three units. If I didn’t have that I would likely just take the Oilers moneyline for a unit or two. I considered adding the puck line but that isn’t worth it to me. Game 7s typically always trend under, and I’d lean the under hits in tonight’s game, but at 5.5 or the alternate line of 6 at -140, I don’t think its worth betting on. I’m not adding anything on for tonight’s game and just riding the Oilers to win the series. Loyal to the Oil!
