NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/24/24

Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals last night was fantastic with Tyler Seguin forcing overtime with both his goals, but 32 seconds into 2OT, Connor McDavid won it 3-2 for the Oilers. I went 0-2, starting the third round with a 1.76 unit loss. Tonight we have Game 2 in the East as the Rangers look to tie up the series at home. Let’s bounce back!

Game 2 – Rangers vs. Panthers (8:00)

I think this is going to be an incredible series and although they didn’t look awful, I don’t think the Rangers played nearly as poorly as the 3-0 shutout loss at home in Game 1, taking their first series deficit of the playoffs. My only play in this series is for it to go over 5.5 games and I still feel like these teams are going to continue trading wins in the series. That game was still pretty close, with it just being 1-0 all the way until just 3:48 left in regulation when Carter Verhaeghe scored, with Sam Bennett capping the game off with an empty net. The Panthers outshot New York 27-24, but the Rags generated 2.68 expected goals to Florida’s 2.14. Igor wasn’t great in goal and I feel like the Rangers have to bounce back here at home tonight in Game 2 to tie up the series before it goes to Florida for Sunday afternoon’s Game 3. I’ll take the Rangers at home for a unit. I said in my series preview blog that although the trends didn’t really point to it, that I leaned the games in this series would trend under. Game 1 was as much of an under as you can get. I’ll jump on it in Game 2 tonight for a unit.
