My under in yesterday’s Rangers/Panthers game didn’t have a chance, losing in the second period for a 2.02 unit loss. Tonight for Memorial Day we have a tied Western Conference Finals heading to Edmonton for Game 3. Let’s go!
Game 3 – Oilers vs. Stars (8:30)
We have a tied series in the Western Conference Finals as the series shifts to Edmonton tonight for Game 3. After the Oilers were the better team in Game 1 and took home ice with their double overtime win, the Stars answered back with a 3-1 win at home on Saturday night in a game that I didn’t think they played great hockey in. The Oilers outshot the Stars 16-4 in the first period, but the game was tied 1-1 after a period and Dallas took a 3-1 win in another close game, despite getting outshot 29-25 and the Oilers generating 3.31 expected goals to the Stars’ 3.16. I still think the Stars are the better team in this series and the best of the four teams left in the playoffs, but Edmonton’s been the better team through the two games in this series. I might have underestimated them a bit, but the Oilers defense is playing way better than I expected them to with solid play in goal from Stuart Skinner. Jake Oettinger has keep Dallas in these two games. I’d lean the Oilers take the lead in the series back tonight at home and would lean the under as well, but neither enough to bet on. I’ll stay off this game entirely. I just don’t see enough value to betting on this game. I’ll be rooting for the Stars for my series bet and futures.
