Solid night on the NHL Playoffs yesterday, cashing my series bet on the Eastern Conference Finals in Game 4 and winning both my bets yesterday, for a 4 unit winning night as the Panthers tied up the series 2-2 in OT. Tonight we have a key Game 4 in the West. Let’s go!
Game 4 – Oilers vs. Stars (8:30)
After losing Game 1 in double overtime, the Stars have since won the last two games of the Western Conference Finals to take back home ice and bring a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 on the road in Edmonton tonight. The first period of Game 3 didn’t look good for Dallas, getting outshot 10-3 and taking a 2-0 deficit into the first intermission, but they battled back big time in the second and controlled play. They start the second period with 14 unanswered shots on goal, scoring three goals in a row to take the lead as Jason Robertson benefitted big time from Roope Hintz getting back in the lineup. Edmonton tied up the game at 3 on Adam Henrique’s goal with 52.5 seconds left in the second, but in the third Robertson completed his hat trick with the game winner and Heiskanen finished the game with empty netter. On the game, the Oilers outshot the Stars 30-22 and outplayed them by an expected goal rate of 3.9-2.92. I’d lean the Oilers tie the series up with a win at home here tonight, but not enough to bet on them and against my series bet and Cup future. I’d also lean the under slightly, but not enough to bet that. I’ll stay off this game completely again. Go Stars. Sometimes the best play is none at all.
