PLL Weekly Gambling Preview – Week 2 2024

I started the PLL season winning 0.2 units last week in Albany on Opening Weekend, going 3-2. This week the league heads to Charlotte for the Carolina Chaos Homecoming. Let’s win again!

Redwoods vs. Chaos (6/7 6:00)

After having a bye last week the California Redwoods begin their season to kick off the weekend. Last year they went 6-4 and after a 15-9 win against the Chaos in the first round of the playoffs, they were eliminated with a 14-6 loss in the second round to the eventual champion Archers. Last year their offense struggled as the second lowest scoring team i the league, but their defense was decent. The Chaos opened the season last week with a 16-11 win over the Outlaws. In the regular season these teams met twice last year, splitting both of those games, with the Redwoods winning 13-8 in Week 4 and the Chaos answering back with a 14-12 win in Week 8. I’d lean the Chaos win this one and the over, but not enough to bet on either. I’ll lay off this game entirely.

Archers vs. Outlaws (6/7 8:30)

Huge mismatch in this game. Last week the defending champs opened the season with a 12-11 win against the Waterdogs in a rematch of last year’s championship game. They got out to an 11-4 lead after a 5-1 start and just sat on it to get the win. The Outlaws opened their season, after (as the Chrome) they were the worst team in the league last season with a 16-11 loss to the Chaos. Last season the Archers dominated both games between these teams, winning 12-7 in Week 2 and then 13-5 in Week 9. I fully expect another dominant win for the Archers here tonight. The moneyline is too expensive at -250, but I’ll take them -2.5 for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Atlas vs. Chaos (6/8 5:00)

Solid matchup here. Last week the Atlas impressed me in their Homecoming weekend, going 2-0 with high scoring wins, beating the Cannons 19-12 on Saturday and the Whipsnakes 17-13 on Sunday. Although this will be the second game of the weekend for the Chaos, I’m not too concerned with the result of their game on Saturday. I like the Atlas to win this one, and I’ll take them for half a unit. I like the over even better, and I’ll take that for a unit.

Whipsnakes vs. Cannons (6/8 7:30)

Interesting matchup. Both of these teams are coming off losses to the Atlas on Opening Weekend, as the Cannons lost 19-12 on Saturday and the Whips lost 17-13 on Sunday. Last season these teams just met once, with the Cannons winning 15-11 in Week 11, despite not even winning one faceoff. I’d lean the Cannons win this one again, but I’ll stay off the side in it. I do like the over, expecting both teams to be able to score and I’ll take it for half a unit.

Bets

1u Archers -2.5 (-115)

.5u Atlas ML (-160)

1u Atlas/Chaos over 26 (-105)

.5u Cannons/Whipsnakes over 25.5 (-115)

Record: 3-2 (+0.2 units)
