Last week on The Bachelorette, the drama really heated up early as the dates started and fights already got rolling in the house. I’m sure that will continue to heat up this week.
Spencer gets the first one on one date of the week. They start off with the first helicopter date of the season and Jenn’s first helicopter ride. At dinner after their date, Spencer tells Jenn that he was engaged before and two months before his wedding he found out that his fiancé was cheating on him. They connect and she gives him the rose.
Next up’s a big group date. They do a male stripper date and a bunch of the guys embrace it and have fun with it, besides Sam N, “the love virgin”, who’s a total buzzkill, just showing how much of a lack of confidence he has. As a guy that was a stripper not once, but twice for Halloween, you just gotta embrace it and have fun. Who cares what you look like, especially with everyone else doing the same thing. Sam M, who although does show his confidence, also seems to be more worried about Devin than him and Jenn. Of course they go back to back and both crush it. Sam N follows that up though by cutting the music, getting the mic and telling her and everyone else that he’s “already falling in love” with her, not performing, and just stunning everyone. WILD move. What a fucking weird. So first he claims he’s never been in love, and then he follows it up with saying that he’s falling in love with her. Clearly he doesn’t know what falling in love means. So weird. Jonathan wins the title of “Mr. Love Down Under”. At the cocktail party after, Sam N. apologizes to Jenn for being so corny. She tells him he should stick to what he said, but he still completely looks like a loser for how early he’s telling her that he’s falling in love with her. Grow the fuck up. He then goes to talk to all of the guys about what he said and how he feels pathetic about it. Devin tells him he has no reason to apologize and to feel how he feels. Sam M and Tomas then get into it with him. Devin, who opened up about struggles he had as a kid to Jenn, gets the group date rose. Good for him honestly.
Prior to the group date, Aaron gets a call since he’s in the Air Force and that he has fighter pilot training days set, but has to decide if he wants to stay on the show or leave for the flight training that he waited for.
The second group date is a pretty small one, with just Hakeem, Jeremy, Austin, and Aaron at a race track with Jenn. The guys go through a little course to learn how to drive on the right side and drive stick. Looks like a blast. Austin won the competition. Of course this is important for Aaron to see which decision he wants to make. All four guys really open up to Jenn in a drama-free, good date. Jenn gives the rose to Jeremy.
Onto the cocktail party. Aaron’s the first one to talk to Jenn and he tells her about how he’s choosing to pursue his dreams of being a fighter pilot and has to leave. She validates his decision and thanks him, saying that if she were him, she’d do the same. On his way out though, he tells her that there’s guys that he doesn’t think are going to be ready for an engagement at the end of this and that some might not be here for the right reasons. She gets irritated by that he’s being so vague and calls him out on that. Jenn’s immediately pissed about the whole situation and goes and calls out the rest of the guys that if they don’t think that they’re here for the right reasons that they should leave too. I’m really starting to hate Sam M. He’s saying all the right shit to Jenn and clearly they have a physical connection, but I feel like he’s absolutely not here for the right reasons.
Rose ceremony time. With the final rose of the night, Jenn gives it to Sam N, sending Hakeem (no more reaction memes) and another guy who’s name I don’t even know home.
Pretty good episode. I really want both Sam’s gone, especially Sam M. Along with Tomas.
The journey continues next week with more drama.
