We get back to back episodes of The Bachelorette this week as tonight Jenn and her three final guys, Devin, Jonathan, and Marcus head to Hawaii for fantasy suites week, and then tomorrow we get the Men Tell All. And seeing how drama filled this season has been, it should be a fun last two weeks of the season to end it.
Drink’s poured, let’s go!
We get started with fireworks right off the hop, with a cut to Devin pouring his heart out to Jesse Palmer about how he doesn’t feel loved, but feels like “one of” rather than “the one”. He goes to talk to Jenn, and as she happily opens the door, immediate cut to the start of the week in Hawaii. What an opening.
The week for Jenn starts off catching up with Molly Mesnick, who helped host the radio date earlier in the season.
Devin, who I think is by far the front runner going into this week, gets the first date of the week. They start their date seeing Hawaii from a helicopter (third helicopter date of the season?). He’s very much on that he wants her to tell him that she’s in love with him, but that’s not happening. Jenn gushes over Devin and how perfect he is for her but still can’t say it, which is understandable since she still has two other guys left, but you could still CLEARLY see he’s the front runner here. Cue the same emotional music every season and…should you choose to forgo your individual rooms, please use this key to stay as a couple in the fantasy suite.
When they wake up, Jenn tells the confessional that people say Devin looks like Pete Davidson but that he’s better than Pete Davidson in every way…so clearly they had sex. Good for them.
Jonathan’s up next for his date. They explore around Hawaii, going to food stands, markets, and have a picnic in a beautiful romantic place in front of some waterfalls that reminds me of the season where Jennifer Aniston (my girl!) and Brooklyn Decker go swimming in Just Go With It. They connect more during the dinner but it still feels like Jonathan’s behind a bit in this journey. Jenn and Jonathan spend the night together in the fantasy suite, which seems to really solidify their relationship.
Cut back to Devin and we get the same clips on the cold open with that he thinks that he’s just “one of” and not “the one”.
Marcus is the last one for an overnight date. Prior to the date, Jenn tells the confessional that she’s worried that she’s farther than he is and that she’s in love with Marcus. So I guess I’m wrong in thinking Devin’s the front runner. To start their date, as the sun goes down, Jenn and Marcus go snorkeling with the manta rays that light up, which is a pretty incredible date. At dinner, Marcus tells Jenn that the last rose ceremony made him very nervous and how important an engagement and marriage and being a father means to him. He says that he really needs confidence and that he thinks there’s so much potential between them, but he’s so clearly hesitant and not in love with Jenn. He tells her that he’s so unsure and that she deserves someone that is sure, isn’t sure that if he’s putting pressure on himself with how quickly this whole process is (which is completely fair), and it’s tough for him to get to a point of saying he’s in love, cause he’s not. Jenn then tells him that she is in love with him. He tells her that he wants to keep trying. They choose to spend the night together and the next morning Marcus seems very happy about everything they were able to talk about and says it was hugely beneficial.
We cut back to the scene we saw in the cold open as Devin meets with Jesse in the hotel. After we see the same emotional conversion, Devin goes to talk to Jenn.
Back again tomorrow night to see the rest of this kind of conversation and for a dramatic Men Tell All that we know is going to be wild.
