This week of back to back episodes of The Bachelorette continues tonight with the Men Tell All and a pretty big cliffhanger from last night on how Jenn and Devin’s conversation will go.
That cliffhanger’s first as we head back to Hawaii as Devin walks to Jenn’s room to talk to her. He tells Devin that he’s doubting where her head is in this whole thing and their relationship. Seeing that she told Marcus that she’s in love with him (when he’s clearly not), and Devin’s saying that he feels like he’s the safe option for her and that he’s wanted, but not needed, and it scares him. Which is completely fair. Jenn says that she struggles in being able to express her feelings for him in the same way that he does, emotionally breaking down in a confessional.
“Devin, I do love you, you freaking idiot.”
Clear cut front runner again.
So Jonathan has to be the guy that goes home at the rose ceremony right?
Let’s find out. Onto the rose ceremony.
“Devin, will you accept this rose”
Let’s fucking go.
And with the final rose of a rose ceremony of the season…which has to be for Marcus right?…
“Marcus, will you accept this rose?”
Not a surprise in the slightest, but that fucking sucks for Jonathan, especially with Marcus pretty much telling Jenn that he wasn’t in love with her. I really, really hope that Jonathan finds love in Paradise. He tells Jenn that it took him too long to realize what he wanted and the slow burn in their relationship was entirely his fault.
Back to the LA studios for the Men Tell All. Normally I hate this episode every season, but I’m pretty hyped for it tonight with this season being ALL drama. First we get a few answers on the guys that got eliminated on night one that will clearly be in Paradise, then the highlight reel of all the drama we got all season.
Aaron’s first up, with his call out of who’s there for the right reasons or who isn’t ready for an engagement on his way out. He pretty much brushes it off but then says Sam N, Devin at the time, and shockingly Spencer, who shocks everyone. Aaron says that he didn’t think Spencer was healed from his previous relationship and gets called out big time on that.
He also references the book that he gave Devin, and his brother getting a book a few years ago. Clearly that’s a producer plant thing, but it’s funny that Noah, who’s in the audience says it wasn’t the move.
Next up is Sam N’s ridiculous proclaim that he was in love with her early in the season. He admits that he was a bit premature on it.
Now it’s the big time drama king of the season, the other Sam, and his issues with Devin. Jeremy defends Devin and says that “at least Devin kept the main thing the main thing”. Jeremy also makes the perfect comparison and compares Sam to Lindsey Lohan’s character in Mean Girls being completely obsessed with Regina George like Sam was obsessed with Devin.
Sam’s first up on the hot seat and I don’t think we’ve had a villain like this guy since Luke P on Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette. Guy was toxic as fuck. Sam claims that he did actually love Jenn, but obviously didn’t and some of the other guys call him out on that. Someone calls him out on the line that he thought the Bachelorette was going to be Daisy or Maria (which everyone else did too, and Sam points that out) and Sam tries saying that he told his parents he didn’t think it would work out with either of them, clearly showing that he wasn’t there for the right reasons, regardless of who The Bachelorette was going to be. Dude suckssss.
Jonathan’s next on stage to talk about his journey and his breakup with Jenn earlier tonight and after talking about it, he’s the first to officially confirm that he’ll be on the beaches of Paradise.
Next up on the hot seat, the next Bachelor, Grant. We see his highlight tape and how he did a great job as a contestant and just wasn’t Jenn’s pick. Good for him for being named The Bachelor, and I think he’ll be a decent lead.
Finally Jenn’s on the hot seat. A few things and then she completely tears apart Sam for what a child he was, how horrible he was in the entire journey and just rips him apart.
After the bloopers, the producers make Hakeem deal with another huge spider and officially give him the second invite to Paradise.
Next week, Jenn’s journey comes to a conclusion with a three hour finale next Tuesday. Can’t wait to see how it plays out. I didn’t really have that high of expectations this season, but it’s been entertaining from start to finish.
