NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/11/24

I bounced back with a winning night on yesterday’s big NHL slate, going 4-2 to win .6 units. Tonight we have a decent four game slate, let’s win again!

Hurricanes vs. Lightning (7:00)

Really solid matchup here as both of these teams open their seasons tonight. Both are going to be solid, likely playoff teams this year, but I don’t see either team winning the Cup this year and I think they both slightly take a step back. I’d slightly lean the Canes win this one at home and the under, but not enough to bet either.

Jets vs. Blackhawks (8:00)

Lousy Central Division matchup. The Jets impressed me as they crushed the Oilers in a 6-0 shutout on the road to open the season on Wednesday. The Blackhawks looked as I expected, as one of the lousiest teams in the league in their 5-2 loss in Utah. I like Winnipeg to win here at home and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit.

Canucks vs. Flyers (10:00)

This is a tough matchup to bet here. The Canucks blew a 4-1 lead in the first period to go on to lose 6-5 to Calgary at home in their opener and without Demko they looked shaky on the back end. I don’t expect much out of the Flyers this year and I’d lean Vancouver wins this one at home, but I think the best bet here is none at all, so I’ll stay off this game completely.

Golden Knights vs. Blues (10:00)

Vegas came out hot in their opener, scoring eight goals in their 8-4 win against the Avs. The Blues are a middling team and 2-0 in the second half of a back to back tonight. I’ll take the Golden Knights to win in regulation tonight at home in the Fortress. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Game Bets

.5u Jets in regulation (-155)

.5u Golden Knights in regulation (-125)

Record: 8-6 (-1.19 units)
