Solid Sunday for me yesterday on the NHL, going 3-0 to win 2 units. We have a six game slate today with three day games to start off the week. Let’s keep rolling!
I added my first future of the season last night, taking the Golden Knights to win the Stanley Cup for 2 units. Watching this team, who just won the Cup two years ago and were a Game 7 loss away from the Western Conference Finals last year while dealing with injuries, I think they absolutely have the talent to win the Cup again. Their offense and defense is buzzing and its the type of lock down defensive play that can take a team far into a playoff run. Especially compared to other teams around them or ahead of them, I feel like the +1800 is a fantastic price and just like I won my future from them in November of the year they won the Cup, let’s do it again!
Bruins vs. Panthers (1:00)
Interesting matchup to start the day between these rivals, which should be a solid game. These teams opened the season against each other and Florida dominated their way to a 6-4 win that wasn’t as close as the score, but that was with Korpisalo in goal down in Florida. I’d assume Swayman starts today, which, along with the Bruins being at home makes me stay off this game. I’d lean Florida wins, but I’m not touching it.
Senators vs. Kings (1:00)
This is a decent matchup, both of which I haven’t really figured out yet. I think the Kings are the better team in this one, but they haven’t really convinced me of anything yet on the year. I’d lean they win on the road, but I’ll stay off this game.
Devils vs. Utah HC (1:00)
I think this is a pretty fun game. I was originally going to be all over the Devils in this one as I think they’re going to be a very good team this year. Utah’s offense has been impressive so far though in their 3-0 start and with Jake Allen confirmed in goal rather than Markstrom, I’ll stay off the side here. I do like the over though, expecting both teams to score, and I’ll take that for half a unit.
Rangers vs. Red Wings (7:00)
Decent matchup here. I like the Rangers to win this one and bounce back from their overtime loss to Utah. The moneyline is too expensive for me, but I’ll take the Rags in regulation for half a unit.
Canadiens vs. Penguins (7:30)
I think this is a decent game between two teams I don’t really think are that great. The Pens are the better team, but on the road in Montreal and with the Habs playing decent so far, I don’t really see an edge in betting this game. I’ll lay off it.
Avalanche vs. Islanders (9:00)
The Avs, especially defensively have looked like shit to start their year, even giving up six goals to the Blue Jackets. I do still think they’re a good team though and I don’t think the Isles are that good. I’ll take Colorado to get their first win here. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
