I didn’t have my best night on yesterday’s big NHL slate, going 2-3 to lose 1.26 units. Tonight we have a tricky four game slate, let’s find some value here.
Penguins vs. Sabres (7:00)
It was nice to see the Sabres pick up their first win of the season in a solid 5-2 game against Florida on Saturday. This team still isn’t good though. I don’t think the Penguins are that spectacular but I do give them an edge in this matchup, especially at home and I’ll take them for half a unit.
Maple Leafs vs. Kings (7:30)
This is a pretty fun matchup. I think the Leafs are the better team here and should win at home, but they’re depleted with injuries and although their start to the season hasn’t been great, I do think the Kings are better than they’ve looked through their first three games. I’d slightly lean the over as well, but not enough to bet anything on this game. I’ll lay off it completely.
Avalanche vs. Bruins (9:30)
I expected both of these teams to be playoff teams that won’t win the Cup. The Avs are off to a horrible start, especially defensively. I don’t think the Bruins have been all that great either. I’d lean Boston wins this one on the road, but not enough to bet it. I do like the over thought, which I’ll take at the alternate 6 line for half a unit.
Ducks vs. Utah HC (10:00)
Not a great game here to close out the night. I don’t think either of these teams are that great, but Utah’s offense has been hot to start off their season and I like that to continue against a pretty weak Ducks team. I’ll ride the hot streak and take Utah to bounce back from their shutout loss in Jersey with a win on the road tonight.
