I made a slight 0.22 unit profit on the NHL, going 2-1 last night with a garbage late tying goal to prevent the sweep. Tonight we have a big eleven game slate. Let’s crush it!
Blue Jackets vs. Sabres (7:00)
Lousy game here. Both of these teams suck. My Sabres are in the second half of a back to back after giving up the tying goal with 46 seconds left last night to lost 6-5 in overtime to the Penguins (cash it). I’d very slightly lean Columbus although I think Buffalo’s the better team and I’d lean the over, but I don’t see any edge here that makes me want to bet this game. I’ll just stay off it.
Canadiens vs. Kings (7:00)
I thought the Kings would be better so far than their 1-1-2 start has been. They’re struggling on both ends of the ice. I don’t think the Habs are great either and I’d lean LA wins this one on the road, but not enough to bet it.
Senators vs. Devils (7:00)
Kind of an interesting matchup here. Both of these teams have been pretty good to start their season and I expect them to both improve this year. I think the Devils are the better team and like them to win this one on the road, and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Lightning vs. Golden Knights (7:00)
Easily the best matchup on tonight’s slate. This should be a great game. Both of these teams have played very well so far to start the season. I’d slightly lean that Vegas is the better team here, but I’m not betting them on the road. I’d slightly lean the over as well, but not enough to bet it. I’ll stay off this game entirely.
Panthers vs. Canucks (7:00)
I like Florida to win this game tonight at home. The Canucks haven’t been great on either end of the ice. I’ll take the Panthers for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but I’ll just stick to the Florida ML.
Capitals vs. Stars (7:00)
Both of these teams let me down on Tuesday, as the Caps found a way to beat Vegas while the Stars needed overtime to beat the Sharks. I think Dallas is a top tier team this season and don’t think Washington’s great. I like the Stars to win this one on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Red Wings vs. Rangers (7:30)
These teams just played on Monday night, with the Red Wings surprisingly winning 4-1 in MSG. I like the Rangers to answer back on this one on the road and will take them for half a unit.
Blues vs. Islanders (8:00)
I don’t think either of these teams are all that spectacular and will likely end up in the middle of the pack. I’d slightly lean the Blues win this one at home, but not enough to bet it. I’ll stay off this one entirely.
Predators vs. Oilers (8:00)
Great matchup here that should be a lot of fun to watch, but I don’t quite trust either of these teams yet with their starts to the season. I had high expectations for both of them, expecting the Preds to make the playoffs and the Oilers being my Cup pick preseason. The Preds feel disjointed and with all their new pieces it just feels like they’re not meshing together well quite yet, where the Oilers look pretty brutal in their start. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit.
Blackhawks vs. Sharks (8:30)
Horrible matchup here between two of the worst teams in the NHL. I’m not touching this one.
Kraken vs. Flyers (10:00)
Interesting matchup between two lower tier teams. I’d slightly lean the Flyers win this one on the road, but not enough to even consider betting it.
