Lost on yesterday’s big NHL slate, going 2-3 to lose 0.89 units. Let’s bounce back with a win here on tonight’s smaller three game slate!
Penguins vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
Although I think they took a bit of a step back from last year, the Canes are still a very good team. I’m not sold on the Pens this season despite their decent start. I like Carolina to win this one on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit.
Jets vs. Sharks (8:00)
Pretty lousy mismatch here and the price dictates that with the Jets coming in at a heavy -380. I think Winnipeg’s a good team that should make the playoffs but likely get eliminated in the first round. The Sharks on the other hand, although they’ve been kind of feisty in some crappy games to start the year, are a bottom three team in this league. The Jets should win this game easily and I’ll take them on the puck line for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the over, but I’m not betting it.
Avalanche vs. Ducks (9:00)
The Avs defense has been so bad so far in their 0-4 start to the year. Way worse than I expected out of them. The Ducks I don’t expect to be a great team and this should be a spot for the Avalanche to get their first win of the season at home. The price is too expensive though when I can’t trust them on the back end. I’ll take their team total over 3.5 for half a unit and I like the over on the game, which I’ll take for half a unit as well.
