NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/8/24

Great night for me on the NHL yesterday, going 6-4 and cashing all my bigger plays to win 2.95 units. Tonight we have a four game slate with some fun games. Let’s make it three winning nights in a row and six in the last week!

Maple Leafs vs. Red Wings (7:00)

This Atlantic Division matchup isn’t great to start off the night as both of these teams have been quite inconsistent this season. The Leafs have a 3-1-1 record in their last five games, coming off a 4-0 shutout win against the Bruins on Tuesday in a rematch of last year’s first round. The Red Wings have won their last two games in a row, beating the Blackhawks 4-1 on Wednesday. I’d lean Toronto wins this one at home, but at almost -200, nor is it worth it to limit them to regulation only. I’d slightly lean the over, but this matchup trends under, so I’ll stay off the total. I’ll lay off this game entirely.

Capitals vs. Penguins (7:30)

It’s always a blast of a game when Sid and Ovi meet. This storied Metro Division rivalry matchup though doesn’t look like it’ll be great though this season. The Capitals, coming off a 3-2 win against the Preds on Wednesday on Ovechkin’s game winner, have been fantastic with a 9-3 start to this season. The Penguins on the other hand have been terrible season on both ends of the ice. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight after a 5-1 blowout loss in Carolina last night (easy win for me) and have just two wins (against the Habs and Ducks) in their last ten games. Washington should get the win here at home and I’ll take them for a unit. I like the over too, which I’ll take at the alternate line of 6 for half a unit.

Ducks vs. Wild (10:00)

Big Western Conference mismatch here. The Ducks have been horrible this season. Coming off a 5-1 loss to the Canucks on Tuesday they are on a three game losing streak with just one win in their last six games. This team stinks. The Wild though, have been fantastic and have quite impressed me this season. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 5-2 win in San Jose last night (nice winner to close out my night) and have four wins in their last five games in their 9-2-2 start to the year. Even in the second half of a back to back, this should be an easy win for Minnesota. I’ll take them in regulation for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to consider betting it.

Kraken vs. Golden Knights (10:00)

Fun game here in the Pacific between two of the three newest franchises in the league. The Kraken are struggling this season, coming into tonight on a four game losing streak, getting dominated in all four of those games, most recently a 6-2 loss in Colorado on Tuesday. They’ve won just one of their last eight games. The Golden Knights, who I think are going to win the Cup this season, have been very good this season. They’re coming off their first road win of the year on Wednesday night, beating the Oilers 4-2. They’ve won six out of their last seven. I know Vegas is just 1-3-1 on the road, but I like them to win here again tonight and I’ll take VGK for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
