Slight winning night on the NHL yesterday, going 4-4 to win 0.35 units. Tonight we have a four game slate going up against the NHL. Let’s make it three winning nights in a row!
Hurricanes vs. Blues (5:00)
Lousy matchup here to start the night as both of these teams are in the second half of back to backs, both coming off wins yesterday. The Hurricanes have been very good and coming off a 4-1 loss in Utah on Wednesday, they bounced back last night with a 4-0 shutout with at home against the Senators. The Blues after a hot start to the season have struggled quite a bit since, but ended a four game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win in Boston last night. I love this spot for the Canes and I’ll take them in regulation for a unit.
Golden Knights vs. Capitals (8:00)
Fantastic matchup here. Both of these teams have been very good this season. The Golden Knights, coming off two wins in a row after a 4-2 win in Utah on Friday, lead the Pacific and are my pick town the Cup. They’ve been elite at home, where they’re 8-1 on the year. The Caps have far exceeded my expectations as well, playing really good hockey. After a 4-3 overtime loss in Toronto on Wednesday, they bounced back with a 5-2 win in Colorado. The Caps won the first game between these teams 4-2 at home at the beginning of the season. I’d slightly lean Vegas answers back with a win at home tonight and I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5 or buy it down.
Kraken vs. Rangers (9:00)
Kind of a lousy cross conference matchup in this one, but with how the Kraken come into this game, it does make it kind of interesting. After a horrible start to the season, Seattle’s rattled off four wins in a row, coming off a 3-2 win against the Islanders last night. The Rangers have been a very solid team this season and after a 6-3 loss to the Jets on Tuesday at home, they bounced back Thursday beating the Sharks 3-2. Especially with the Kraken in the season half of a back to back, I like the Rags to end their win streak today. I’ll take the Rangers in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Canucks vs. Predators (10:00)
Not the best nightcap here by any means. The Canucks have been a pretty solid team, in the second half of a back to back tonight coming off a 4-1 win against the Blackhawks last night. The Predators have been the biggest disappointment to this season with just a 5-10-3 record, coming into tonight on a three game losing streak with just one win in their last seven games after a 2-0 shutout loss in Calgary on Friday. This team stinks. I’d lean the Canucks win this one again, but in the second half of a back to back I’ll lay off it. I’d also lean the under, but I’m not touching it.
