NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/19/24

My three day win streak came to an end on a wild night in the NHL yesterday as I went 1-3, losing 2.66 units with some shocking results. Let’s bounce right back on tonight’s seven game slate!

Senators vs. Oilers (7:00)

Not a great matchup here up in Canada with both of these teams coming off shutout losses. The Sens, coming off a 4-0 loss in Carolina on Saturday have been quite inconsistent this season. The Oilers are in the second half of a back to back here on the road, coming off two losses in a row after a shocking 3-0 shutout in Montreal. Edmonton’s the better team here and should win on the road, but I don’t like it enough to bet it. I’d also slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching this game.

Penguins vs. Lightning (7:00)

Not the best game here either. The Penguins, who are coming off a 4-3 shootout win at home against the Sharks on Saturday to end a three game losing streak, have been awful this season on both ends of the ice. The Lightning are playing solid hockey and after a lousy run of four straight losses, they’ve since won their last two big games with a 4-0 shutout against the Devils on Saturday and an impressive 4-1 win against the Jets on Thursday. I like Tampa to win this one on the road and I’ll take the Bolts for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Blues vs. Wild (8:00)

This Central Division rivalry matchup doesn’t have much luster to it. The Blues stink. Coming off a 4-1 loss in Carolina on Sunday, they’ve won just one of their last six games and they’re struggling on both ends of the ice. The Wild have been very good and look to bounce back tonight from their 2-1 loss at home against the Stars on Saturday. Minnesota won the first game between these teams 4-1 on the road early in the season and I like them to win here again in St. Louis. I’ll take the Wild for a unit.

Jets vs. Panthers (8:00)

Spectacular rematch from Saturday night in this second half of a home and home, cross conference game between two of the best teams in the NHL. The Panthers won the first game between these teams, putting on a show at home as they shut out the Jets in a 5-0 victory, bouncing back from two losses in a row at home against the Devils. The Jets lead the NHL with a 15-3 record and have been spectacular, but come into tonight off their first back to back losses to the Lightning and then the Panthers. I’d lean Winnipeg answers back with a win at home here and I’d lean the under, but this game’s entirely a toss up to me and I’m not betting it. Can’t wait to watch it.

Blackhawks vs. Ducks (8:30)

Horrible matchup here between two of the worst teams in the NHL. Both of these teams blow. Chicago’s been brutal, with just one win in their last five games, coming off a 4-1 loss in Vancouver on Saturday night. The Ducks have been terrible as well, but come into tonight on their best stretch of the season, on a two game win streak with three wins in their last four games. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a shocking 4-2 win in Dallas last night (big loss for me). I’d lean the Blackhawks win this one at home and the under, but I’m not touching this shitty game.

Flames vs. Islanders (9:00)

This is such a boring cross conference matchup. I’m not sold on either of these teams being good. The Flames are coming off a 2-0 shutout win at home against the Preds on Friday night and have picked up at least a point in five of their last six games, but have just four wins in their last twelve games. The Islanders have been similar. They’re coming off a 3-2 loss in Seattle that ended a five game point streak. This game’s a complete toss up to me. I don’t even have a lean to bet here.

Canucks vs. Rangers (10:00)

Fun cross conference game here to close out the night. The Canucks have been a pretty solid team this season at 9-5-3, but have been a bit inconsistent, coming into tonight off a 5-3 loss to the Preds at home on Sunday. The Rangers have been very good, with an 11-4-1 record and three wins in their last four games, coming off a 2-0 shutout win in Seattle on Sunday. I like the Rags to win here on the road and will take New York for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but I’m not betting it.
