Brutal night for me on the NHL yesterday going 4-8 to lose 6.24 units after sweeping Sunday and Monday. Tonight we have just a small four game slate, but let’s bounce back!
Maple Leafs vs. Predators (7:30)
This is a pretty big mismatch for this cross conference game. Although I think they’re primed for a first round exit from the playoffs, the Leafs are playing pretty solid hockey and got Auston Matthews back in the lineup. Coming off a 4-1 win (in an ugly game) against the Blackhawks on Monday, they’ve won nine of their last eleven games. The Predators have been an awful disappointment this season. This team stinks. They’re on a three game point streak, with three straight 3-2 overtime losses, yet they only have three wins in their last 14 games. I expect a Toronto win here at home and I’ll take the Maple Leafs for a unit. I’d lean the under, but I’m not betting it.
Blackhawks vs. Bruins (7:30)
Terrible cross conference game here. The Blackhawks are one of the worst teams in the NHL. They’re at the bottom of the Central Division and come into tonight’s game on a three game losing streak with just three wins in their last twelve games. The Bruins have played better since firing Monty. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 3-2 overtime win at home against Detroit last night for their fifth win in their last seven games. I like the B’s to win here on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under since both of these teams struggle to score, but not enough to bet on.
Ducks vs. Golden Knights (10:00)
This Pacific Division matchup isn’t great. The Golden Knights are in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 1-0 shutout win against the Oilers at home last night in a grind of a game where they were outshot 28-16 with a solid performance between the pipes from Adin Hill. That was their fifth win in their last seven games and they have a 5-1-1 record in that span. The Ducks are coming off a 4-3 shootout win at home against the Senators on Sunday and have actually played decent lately with a 6-3-1 record in their last ten games. Vegas, who has struggled a bit on the road is still the far better team here though. They won both previous games between these teams, 3-1 at home and then 3-2 on the road. I like the Knights to win again here, even in the second half of a back to back on the road, and I’ll take them for half a unit. The total’s a complete toss up to me.
Kings vs. Stars (10:00)
Solid Western Conference matchup to end the night. The Kings are playing well lately, coming into tonight’s game on a three game win streak with five wins in their last seven games, coming off a 5-2 win at home against the Sens on Saturday. Dallas has been good all season, coming into tonight off a 2-1 win in Utah on Monday night on a three game win streak. I’d lean the Stars and the under here, but not enough to bet either, so I’ll stay off this game entirely.
