NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 12/9/24

Lousy Sunday for me on the NHL yesterday, going 1-4-1 to lose 1.9 units for a bad weekend of hockey after a solid week. Tonight we have just three lousy games, let’s bounce back with a win!

Sabres vs. Red Wings (7:00)

Terrible game here. My Sabres are a complete joke lately (or for the last 14 years, however you wanna look at it). We’re on a six game losing streak, coming off an embarrassing 5-2 loss at home to Utah on Saturday afternoon. This team’s completely pathetic and not only should Terry Pegula fire Kevyn Adams, who blamed taxes and the lack of palm trees on this team’s lack of success, but he should also sell the fucking team. The Red Wings stink too. Coming off a 2-1 loss at home against the Avs on Saturday, they’re on a five game losing streak of their own. These teams split their first two games between these teams, with the Sabres winning 5-3 at home and the Red Wings answering back with a 2-1 win at home. I’d slightly lean Detroit wins here since I’m a miserable Buffalo fan, and I’d lean the over, but I’m not touching this game.

Rangers vs. Blackhawks (7:00)

Pretty lousy matchup in this cross conference game. The Rangers are in disarray lately with just two wins in their last nine games. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 7-5 loss at home against the Kraken yesterday afternoon where they blew a 3-1 lead, giving up five straight goals. The Blackhawks are far worse though, one of the worst teams in the league. They have just two wins in their last eleven games, coming off a 4-2 loss to the Jets on Saturday at home. Even in the second half of a back to back and with how poorly they’ve played, I like the Rags to win this one at home and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet on it (and I’ll probably end up being a push anyway).

Canadiens vs. Ducks (7:30)

Terrible cross conference game here between two of the worst teams in the league. The Habs are like the Titanic sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic. They have two wins in their last five games, coming off a 4-2 loss at home to the Caps on Saturday. The Ducks are coming off two losses in a row, getting blown out 5-1 by the Wild on Friday night and have just two wins in their last seven games. Montreal has the slightly better offense and the Ducks have the slightly better defense (and the goaltending is better). I don’t even really have a lean here and I’m not touching this shitty game at all.
