NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 12/11/24

Last night I went 5-5 on the NHL, winning .2 units. I’ll take it. Tonight we have just two terrible games, let’s make it another profitable night!

Sabres vs. Rangers (7:00)

Both of these Eastern Conference teams are in disarray right now, although the Sabres are in a complete dumpster fire that spread to the abandoned building next to it while the Rangers are just dealing with a backyard bonfire that got a little too big. My Sabres have to blow up the whole franchise at this point and not only should Terry Pegula be firing GM Kevyn Adams, he should be selling the fucking team. We’re on a pathetic seven game losing streak right now, coming off yet another pathetic loss, blowing a 5-3 third period lead on Monday to lose 6-5 in a shootout at home to the Red Wings. A completely inept organization from the top down. The Rangers have really been on a downward spiral of their own too after big expectations for them going into the year. They traded Jacob Trouba this past week and resigned Shesterkin, but have just two wins in their last ten games, not even able to beat the Blackhawks, losing to them 2-1 at home on Monday. In the first game between these teams this season, the Rags got spanked at home, as the Sabres played their best game of the year, picking up a 6-1 win at MSG on November 7th. Since I’m sitting through and watching every one of these pathetic Sabres games, they’re now going to pretty much be an auto-bet against them every night. Regardless of that though, I like the Rangers to answer back from that 6-1 loss embarrassment earlier this season, bounce back from their loss to the Blackhawks and beat Buffalo on the road tonight. I’ll take the Rangers for half a unit along with the over at 6 for half a unit.

Senators vs. Ducks (7:30)

What a terrible cross conference matchup. Both of these teams suck this season. The first game between these teams this year on December 1st was close, with the Ducks winning 4-3 in a shootout at home. The Senators haven’t been awful lately, with a 4-2-1 record in their last seven games, coming off a 4-2 loss at home to the Islanders on Sunday. The Ducks have been pretty brutal as of late, coming into tonight on a three game losing streak off a 3-2 shootout loss in Montreal on Monday, and have just two wins in their last eight games, with one of those wins in the first game against the Sens.  I like Ottawa to answer back with a win here and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the under slightly, but not enough to bet it.
