Tonight the Sabres took yet another pathetic, sad loss in Vegas, losing 3-1 on the road with Jack Eichel scoring in a two point night against his former team.
Vegas got on the board first as Tanner Laczynski got his first goal of the season right in front off the rebound as Reimer made the assist on Brett Howden’s initial shot 4:53 into the game. On a delayed penalty with 7:37 left to go, Mark Stone came streaking down the ice unnoticed for the easy tip in goal to put the Knights up 2-0. The Sabres look like shit already. This team fucking blows.
James Reimer kept it a 2-0 game through two periods, as I think the Sabres offense generated two shots on goal that entire period. What a terrible period for Buffalo.
With 12:16 to go in the third period, former Buffalo Sabres superstar, that the Sabres organization completely failed, Jack Eichel made it 3-0 with a beauty wrist shot, off the post and in the net. Jason Zucker prevented the shutout, scoring on the power play with 2:18 left in the game, tipping in a shot in front past Hill off a shot from Dahlin at the top of the zone. The Sabres generated a lot more chances in the third period and did play better, but it wasn’t nearly enough.
FINAL: Sabres 1, Golden Knights 3
Another pathetic loss for the Sabres. This team and this franchise is so fucking sad. We don’t look like we even belong on the same ice as some of these teams. James Reimer, who made 30 saves on the 33 shots he saw, was the only bright spot as he was the only reason this wasn’t something like a 5-1 game.
