Tonight the latest season of The Bachelor kicks off after a nice break with Grant Ellis, a fan favorite from Jenn’s season of The Bachelorette, a basketball player and day trader from New Jersey begins his journey to find love.
Drinks are poured, let the journey begin!
The ladies, who all seem good have pretty simple intros out of the limos, which is good. I always dislike when they do ridiculous shit. Then one girl, Alexe, brings an llama. Multiple girls though use the line “let the games begin”. Obviously this whole thing is a game to just get famous at this point, this many years in (although its so much less than like the Colton/Becca/Hannah/Peter seasons that made them superstars), but that just screams “not here for the right reasons”.
Grant comes in and tells all the girls that he wants to fall in love, tells them what love means to them, and asks of all of them what love means to them. I feel like he’s going to be a great lead this season. Allyshia gets the first kiss. Juliana also gets a kiss on night one.
As Grant is talking to all his ladies, a new one comes into the house from her own limo. She walks into the house and goes right to Grant, and it turns out it’s his sister, much to the thrill of all the ladies in the house. She shows the ladies baby pictures of Grant and tells them he’s here to find his future wife.
When Jesse brings in the first impression rose, he introduces a new twist as well, that the lady that receives that rose will not only be safe at the first rose ceremony, but she’ll also get the first one on one date with Grant.
Alexe, the speech pathologist with the llama that Grant hits it off with, gets the first impression rose. Little bit of a surprise.
Onto the first rose ceremony of the season. I always feel like this early in the season the rose ceremonies don’t really matter. Either you have an initial impression or not, not like there’s any real heartbreak this early. The final rose of the night goes to Parisa, a girl that seemed kind of nuts, making him a PowerPoint.
I feel like this is a good cast, should be a fun season to watch.
