Losing Sunday for me yesterday on the NHL, going 2-5 to lose 1.82 units with a few late collapses. Following a huge weekend, tonight we have just one lousy game before a fully loaded 14 game slate tomorrow. Nice job scheduling department…let’s bounce back.
Predators vs. Senators (7:30)
It would’ve been nice if for the only game on tonight’s slate we would’ve gotten a good matchup, but this one absolutely isn’t that. The Predators have been horrible this year, a pretty big disappointment as they’re only better than the Blackhawks in the Central Division after high expectations going into the season. Coming off a 3-0 shutout loss in Pittsburgh, they’re on a four game losing streak following their only five game win streak of the season. Nashville’s struggled quite a bit on both ends of the ice. The Senators have been pretty solid lately, holding third place in the Atlantic Division. They’re on a four game win streak, coming off an impressive 6-0 shutout win at home against the Wild on Saturday (half a goal too many to hit my under), and have a 9-2-1 record in their last twelve games. Although Ottawa’s struggled to score, they’ve been very good defensively. Ottawa won the first game between these teams 3-1 at home in December and I expect a similar result tonight on the road. I’ll take the Sens for a unit at a great price with them as a dog on the road. I considered the regulation line too at +170, but I’ll skip it and just stick to the moneyline. I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
