Last week Grant’s season of The Bachelor began as he met his cast of ladies fighting for his heart, which for the most part all seemed pretty good. This week the dates begin, with a new slight twist. We already know who’s getting the first one on one date of the season. Getting the first impression rose got Alexe the first one on one as well. I like that extra twist, and it does make sense.
Let the journey really begin!
The first date of the season is a group date that’s obviously basketball themed, Grant’s first love. The date is hosted by little kids, with the top thing that Grant’s looking for is how they interact with the kids first and foremost. After practicing a bit, with one girl Zoe stealing Grant away, which pisses off some of the girls. When they play the game, the team she’s on dominates the game. They win extra time with Grant and he awards Chloie with the MVP of the game with a letterman jacket and she’s the first he talks to one on one at the extra cocktail time. The girls are already hating Zoe cause she keeps stealing away Grant. I don’t think it’s overly excessive, but this early it isn’t a great sign that all these other girls already don’t like her. After Zoe interrupts Alli Jo while he’s talking to Grant, they go back and argue. Drama already! Natalie, who really spent time with the kids gets the group date rose.
Next up is the first one on one date, which as we know is with Alexe, who got the first impression rose. It’s in an empty mall, where she follows a ton of rose pedals to meet him. They have a blast together, feeling like kids and connecting. They open up a bit to each other about growing up, and Grant gives her the rose.
The next group date with the remaining ladies starts with Mario singing Let Me Love You, and then the ladies have to write their own songs for Grant and sing and dance them in front of an audience. Carolina wins the group date and straddles Grant and makes out with him in front of everyone, rattling some of the other girls. When Grant walks into the cocktail party after the date, he feels an awkward energy with all of them. Litia, who opens up to Grant gets the group date rose.
Going into the rose ceremony cocktail party, a lot of the girls don’t know where they stand with Grant and they’re pretty nervous with some emotions running high.
Onto the rose ceremony, which I think are still pretty boring this early into seasons since you don’t really know most of the cast yet. Chloie gets the final rose of the night. No surprise there since she won the MVP of the basketball date.
Not the best first real week of the season episode.
