NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 2/24/25

Great Sunday for me on the NHL, as I went 6-1 yesterday to win 3.26 units with the Avs preventing my sweep. After a loaded weekend, we have just two games tonight, let’s win again!

Jets vs. Sharks (7:30)

This is the biggest mismatch in the Western Conference, between the top team in the West and the worst in the league. The moneyline reflects that, with the Jets coming in as huge -550 favorites. The Jets lead the West and have played fantastic hockey on both ends of the ice the entire season. Saturday they came out of the break with a 4-3 shootout win in St. Louis, extending their win streak to nine straight games. I thought I was losing my bet on the Jets in that game, as they gave up a go ahead goal with 2:50 left in regulation, but Gabe Vilardi tied it up with 28 seconds left to force overtime before Winnipeg won in the shootout. The Sharks are the worst team in the league and in the second half of a back to back tonight. Last night they hung in there, but ultimately lost (in regulation to close out my night with a win) 3-2 in Calgary. San Jose has been brutal on both ends of the ice, with only one win in their last eleven games. The Jets won both previous games between these teams, winning 8-3 at home in October and 4-3 on the road in December. I fully expect them to complete the season sweep here, likely in blowout fashion. I’ll lay the pricey -180 on the puck line for a unit, along with half a unit on the Jets team total over 3.5. I’d lean the over on the game, but I could see the Jets winning this one 5-0 or something like that.

Kings vs. Golden Knights (10:30)

After that first game being horrendous, pretty solid Pacific Division playoff matchup for the late game, that could definitely be a preview of a first round series this year if Vegas falls behind Edmonton. Both of these teams have played well lately. The Kings came out of the 4 Nations break with a 5-3 win at home against Utah and are on a five game point streak with four wins in that span after they had been in a slump with two wins in their prior ten games. On the season, LA’s struggled offensively, but have been fantastic on the back end. The Golden Knights have a two point lead over the Oilers for first place in the division, beating the Canucks 3-1 on Saturday coming out of the break for their third straight win after an even bigger slump of their own, where they had only two wins in the previous eleven games. These teams split their first two games in October, each winning at home, a 6-1 Vegas win and a 6-3 Kings win. The Knights are still my pick to win the Cup and I like them to get the win here in likely a closer game than those first two matchups. I’ll take my VGK for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not quite enough to bet it.
