NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 3/19/25

Losing night for me on the NHL yesterday, going 4-4 but losing .94 units with the Jets losing late. The NHL scheduling department has just two games on the board tonight with a huge slate to compete against March Madness tomorrow. Gotta bounce back!

Maple Leafs vs. Avalanche (7:00)

This should be a great, really fun cross conference game. Toronto’s in a bit of a slump right now, tied with the Lightning for second and third in the Atlantic, but still just two points back from the Panthers for first place. The Leafs are coming off a 6-2 win at home on Monday against the Flames, just their second win in their last seven games. The Avalanche are on fire recently, in third place in the Central, four points back from Dallas for home ice in the first round and four ahead of Minnesota. Coming off a big 4-3 overtime win on Cale Makar’s NASTY game winner in an absolutely incredible game against the Stars on Sunday afternoon, they’re on an 8-0-1 run. These teams played earlier this month in Colorado, with the Avs waxing the Leafs 7-4 in comeback fashion, as Toronto blew a 4-2 second period lead, giving up five unanswered goals. I like Colorado to win this one again and I’ll take them for half a unit. I like the over even better though, which I’ll take at 6 for a unit.

Wild vs. Kraken (9:30)

For as fun of an early game we get, this one’s quite the boring matchup out West. The Wild are struggling with a ton of injuries, but are still in the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Coming off a 3-1 win at home against the Kings on Monday, they have just four wins in their last eleven games. The Kraken haven’t had a good season, but they are playing better lately, with a 4-1-1 record in their last six games. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight after dominating the lowly Blackhawks with a 6-2 win on the road last night, scoring six unanswered after giving up a 2-0 lead to Chicago to start the game. Minnesota won the first game between these teams when they played earlier this month, 4-3 on the road. With the Kraken in the second half of a back to back on the road, I’d lean the Wild win this one, but I don’t like it enough to bet on. I’d also slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching this game.
