Tonight Grant’s journey as The Bachelor with the moment we’ve been waiting for of him not knowing who he wants to propose to between his final two ladies, Juliana and Litia.
Litia’s the first of the final two to meet Grant’s parents and sister. Grant’s family really like Litia, and his one concern that he tells his dad about is that he has some hesitation with that Litia wants to have kids right away, which his dad gives him a bit of advice on.
Juliana gets her turn to meet the family right after. Grant’s mother asks Juliana if she’s in love with her son, to which Juliana says that the two of them have not said it yet. After that meeting with his family, Grant tells Juliana that he loves her. She tells him that she loves him too.
Back in the LA studio, former Bachelorette; Charity, Bachelor; Clayton, and Golden Bachelor; Gerry, all are on the hot seat to talk about what happened when they were in the same scenario of telling multiple finalists that they were in love with them, just like Grant did. Kind of interesting insights there.
After that, then the ladies have their final dates with Grant after meeting his family, mixing up the format a little bit.
Juliana has the first date, going boating with Grant. Afterwards, Grant asks Juliana in the evening if she’s ready for an engagement in two days and if she knows. Juliana promises him that she’ll do her best to handle his heart with care, no matter what happens, which doesn’t seem like a great sign. She then finishes that whole thing with telling him that yes, she is ready.
Litia’s final date with Grant begins with horseback riding on the beach. That night they talk about the timelines of where they would want to go in the future in having kids and everything around that.
Leaving talking to her, Grant still tells the confessional that he still has no idea what he is going to do in making his decision between Juliana and Litia.
In the morning before the proposal, Grant’s dad comes to talk to him. Grant essentially tells his dad that Litia’s more mature and knows what she wants, but Juliana’s more fun. His dad tells him to decide with his heart.
Grant gets more doubt in who he will decide on as he sits with Neil Lane to pick out rings. Then instead of looking happy on his way to the proposal he’s still very stressed out in the rain on making his decision on who that proposal will be to.
To a bit of a surprise, Litia’s the first one to get out of the car. Grant tells her that she’s not the right person for him at the proposal. She asks him when did it change, and he says that he still loves her, and beats around the bush. Litia, obviously pissed, completely knocks back at him. She’s not necessarily wrong in anything she’s saying, but this is also the Bachelor. He’s dating 30 girls to try to find the right one. Litia tells Grant that Juliana’s a beautiful woman and that she deserves a lot of answers based on the things that Grant’s said to Litia, which is also fair. Awkward. That really does show that the way that other leads never tell multiple finalists that they’re in love with them is the right way to go. Honestly an uncomfortable breakup to watch. I think Litia absolutely would be a fantastic lead as The Bachelorette if they ever bring it back.
Litia’s on the hot seat back in studio to talk about. She talks about how shocked she was by the whole thing and how it felt like even up to the night before when she knew it was her, it felt like she completely got the rug pulled out from under her at that proposal.
Grant then joins Litia on the hot seat and she calls him out for everything of leading her on through the entire thing about how he never let up, continuing to go deeper and deeper every week, saying he could cancel the rest of the show, knowing it was her, all this stuff that led her on even up to the very last night. Grant apologizes for everything. Litia really does handle it perfectly.
Back to the Dominican Republic for Grant’s proposal to Juliana, where she happily accepts, they get engaged, and Grant gives her the final rose.
Grant and Juliana are on the hot seat together to talk about their happy relationship. They seem better together now than on the show, and ABC gifts them a trip to Italy.
Not the best season by any means, but nice ending to it.
On the hot seat to talk about Bachelor in Paradise, the first on the hot seat is Zoe, who was eliminated during fantasy suites, and gets invited to Paradise.
The best twist though, for the first time, we’re getting Golden Bachelor in Paradise cast members. Leslie and Gary are the first two announced to be hitting the beach, right alongside all the younger people. That should be a fun extra dynamic! I actually love that, and seeing the older cast members possibly give advice to the younger ones all season I think will be cool. CANNOT WAIT!
