The Canes losing in double overtime last night cost me, as I went 2-4 on the NHL Playoffs yesterday to lose 3.45 units. Not great. Today we have a solid four game slate with some crucial games to bounce back on!
Game 3: Panthers vs. Lightning (1:00)
The Battle of Florida hasn’t been great so far with the Panthers winning both games in Tampa in different ways, with a 6-2 blowout in Game 1 and then a 2-0 shutout on Thursday for Bobrovsky. I don’t see this series going too long after those two road games. I like the Panthers to win again here at home and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Game 4: Wild vs. Golden Knights (4:00)
I very much underestimated a healthy Wild team in this series, who now have a 2-1 series lead. They’re playing very well and it’s been impressive, winning 5-2 in both Games 2 on the road and at home in Game 3. I do still think Vegas is the better team in this series and I have a big play on the Knights to win it in six. I do think the Golden Knights win this one on the road to tie up the series, but I have to hedge that future a bit. I’ll take the Wild for half a unit. I’d lean the over slightly, but didn’t really consider betting the total in this one.
Game 4: Senators vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)
After yet another 3-2 overtime win, this time on the road on Thursday, the Leafs now have the chance to sweep the Battle of Ontario as the better team up North. I do think the Sens can win this one at home to make it go another game, but I’ll take the Leafs tonight for a unit fully expecting this series to be over soon. If Toronto loses tonight, I’ll just double it up in Game 5 when it ends. I like the over too in an elimination game. If Ottawa’s down late, they’re going to pull the goalie more aggressively. I’ll take the over for half a unit.
Game 4: Avalanche vs. Stars (9:30)
This series has been awesome, with the Stars taking back home ice in the series winning 2-1 in overtime in Colorado in Game 3, the second OT win in a row for them. I think the Avs are the better team, and still love this series to go to seven games. I can cash my series play on it to go over 5.5 games with a Colorado win and I’ll double down on it with another unit on the Avs moneyline. I’d lean the over, but don’t like it enough to bet on.
