NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/1/25

Nice bounce back night for me on the NHL Playoffs yesterday, going 5-3 to win 2.94 units. Tonight we have a fantastic night of hockey of four Game 6s, let’s win again!

Game 6: Senators vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)

It’s wild that the Leafs were a post from their best player late in Game 4 from sweeping this series but they’re now underdogs here tonight in Game 6 after getting dominated by Ullmark in a 4-0 loss at home in Game 5 on Tuesday night. Leafs fans have to be shaking in their boots right now that a team that’s notorious for choking in the playoffs. I feel like with the crowd in Ottawa tonight, the Sens find a way to win their third straight game. The smart play here is Toronto, since they are the better team, but let’s have fun. I’ll take the Senators for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Game 6: Wild vs. Golden Knights (7:30)

This series has been awesome and I’ve been sweating out every game with my Golden Knights futures and my bet on them to win the series in six games. That essentially gives me a great price on the Knights at -110 vs. the moneyline tonight at -166. I do think Vegas wins the series tonight, although I severely underestimated Minnesota. Both Games 4 and 5 were decided in overtime for the Knights to come back from a 2-1 series deficit. I’ve already lost on hedging that bet, but I feel like its a no brainer to hedge on it again. I’ll take the Wild for 2 units, essentially now giving me a half unit bet on the Golden Knights at +200. If I didn’t have that, I’d take Vegas for a unit. I like the over again in this game, which I’ll take for a unit as well.

Game 6: Avalanche vs. Stars (9:30)

This has easily been the best series of the first round. After the Avs dominated Game 4 with a 4-0 shutout at home to tie up the series, the Stars bounced back with their first dominant win of the series to put Colorado on the brink of elimination with a 6-2 win at home on Monday night. The Avalanche have been the better team in this series, especially at home. I already have them to win the series and although I’m a bit nervous about that in Game 7, I think they bounce back and win easily at home tonight to force Game 7. Not only am I letting that series bet ride, I’ll double down on it with a unit on the Avs. I like the over too, which I’ll take at 6 for half a unit.

Game 6: Oilers vs. Kings (10:00)

The Kings are in a tough spot here, crumbling away the third periods of Game 1 (although they won), Game 3 and Game 4. The Oilers then played great in Game 5 on the road to now have a 3-2 series lead heading back to Edmonton tonight for Game 6. LA has really struggled on the road and I think the Oilers might have figured out a way to win this series. I have the Kings to win the series for 1.5 units at +110, but I don’t see them winning it, expecting an Edmonton win tonight. I’ll buy out of that series bet and take the Oilers for 2 units tonight for a half unit win (I’d likely just take them for half a unit if I didn’t have the series play). I like the over again too, which has hit in every game of this series beside Game 5. I’ll take it at 6 for 2 units.
