NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 5/17/25

Terrible night for me yesterday on the NHL Playoffs, going 0-2 to lose 3.8 units as the Leafs forced Game 7 with a 2-0 shutout on the road. Tonight we have Game 6 of Stars vs. Jets as Dallas has another chance to close it out, let’s bounce back!

Game 6: Stars vs. Jets (8:00)

I wanted this series to be over on Thursday, but instead we got a Game 6 tonight with the Stars getting another chance to close this out and advance to face the awaiting Oilers. The Jets didn’t play well in Game 1 at home, losing 3-2 on a Mikko Rantanen natural hat trick. They bounced back nicely in Game 2, tying the series with a 4-0 shutout win for Hellebuyck at home. In Game 3 on Sunday, the Stars answered with a big three goal third period, winning 5-2 at home. Dallas took a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4 on Tuesday with Mikael Granlund getting a hat trick at home in a 3-1 win. Winnipeg answered back again though in Game 5 at home on Thursday night in spectacular fashion, with Connor Hellebuyck making 22 saves for a 4-0 shutout win at home to extend the series as his Jets outshot the Stars 35-22. I think Dallas gets it done tonight, bounces back and wins the series. I have 1.5 units on the Stars to win the series, which I now have two chances to cash, and I’ll double down on it tonight with another 1.5 units. I’d lean the under, but with this being an elimination game, I’ll proceed with a bit of caution and just take it for half a unit.
