I cashed on the Stars third period comeback last night in Game 1 to win 1.5 units, a nice bounce back. Tonight let’s keep rolling on Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals!
Game 2: Hurricanes vs. Panthers (8:00)
Carolina didn’t look great early in Game 1, not able to really establish much in five on five play early, with Florida capitalizing to get an early lead and dominating their way to a 5-2 win to take home ice in this series. When you look at the underlying numbers though, it looks like the Hurricanes played a better game than they actually did with Bobrovosky having a fantastic game in goal. The Canes outshot the Panthers 33-20 and generated an expected goal rate of 3.73 to Florida’s 2.2. I think Florida wins this series in probably five or six games, but this is a must win game for Carolina and as I said in Game 1, I don’t see them getting swept so they have to win tonight at home after losing Game 2. I’ll take the Hurricanes tonight for a unit. I also like the over, which I’ll take for half a unit. I’m also going to take Freddy Andersen to make under 23.5 saves for half a unit, which has easily hit in all of the last seven games for Carolina, as they limit the shots he’s facing. Even in that 5-2 loss in Game 1, the Panthers only generated 22 shots on goal.
